All the fuss about DmC wouldn't be there if they just made this a Spin-off

Capcom should have made this DmC a spin-off not reboot

It's stupid, that I am forced to answer this now, or look like a hypocrite.
Let's see, for Bayo:
- Gameplay
- cheesy talk
- Mechanics
- Quicksilver
- OTT ( I say idiotic) "stylish" action
- sexual innuendo

for Rising:
- gameplay (as far as we can tell from the one trailer we've got)
- OTT "stylish" action
- cheesy talk
- can't really say more for now, but this should suffice.

So cheesy talk is originally something that happened originally in DMC?
And the gameplay of DMC is a skill that Hideki has - it's not a copy. It's the same thing as Ninja theory's techniques to make a story that's appealing. For example you could then say that Enslaved gameplay and story methods are copies of Heavenly sword. Or DmC's voice syncs, facial expressions etc are copies of Heavenly sword.

This game should've been called "Limbo City: Raise of Insert main character name here".....and his name should not be Dante. it should be: Gilligan, or whatever you like.

Point one: Nope, Duke Nukem had that before. But DMC took it to another level.

Point two: Kamiya's skills, another team another game, yet he still decides to do the same thing over and over again. How is he not copying his own ideas and inserting them in different settings?

If a skill you have is a "copy" just because you have applied it to a new game - then again Enslaved and DmC are copies of Heavenly sword.

Because the same graphics and story technique skills are applied on Enslaved and DmC.

It's like if Tolkien wrote the same trilogy 3 times with different characters. It lacks inspiration. Novelty.

Elaborate more
Bayonetta resembles DMC without even knowing who created it. Not only that, but they use the same jokes as DMC. They even have the same mythology of DMC (kinda. Lots of Easter Eggs)

Comparing the story of Enslaved, where a man named Monkey escapes an air ship by the help of a girl, who is familiar with robotic technology. She manages to escape with Monkey close behind, and while he's out cold, she turns him into her slave and they go on a journey. And Heavenly Sword, where the birth of main hero kills her mother, and she becomes outcasted because her clan thinks shes cursed and Nariko still feels something for the people of her clan, to unsheath a sword that will consume her until she dies.

NT may be good at story telling, but they don't tell the same story, and its obvious that the gameplay is completely different. I would tell the DmC story but..........yea..
And the DmC gameplay only resembles HS by how the stances change, and we all know DMC made weapon change on the fly the most popular

The gameplay in Bayonetta is a skill Hideki has just like the story techniques in Heavenly sword and Enslaved. Bayonetta
Capcom doesn't own the rights over his creativity or skills. Only the concepts he made while he worked for them such as Rebellion, Sparda, Dante.

And so what there are easter eggs to Devil May Cry? Hideki created DMC.

What do you mean by that ??
I think he means "what kind of story would you put in place of the reboot, but have it as a spinoff."

if this was a spin-off it would have the exact same story. the term "spin-off" would just mean that they intend to continue the original series after this game. while the term "reboot" implies that this may replace the original.

Eh, we've been over this hundreds of times. It's the reboot and it's happening....and honestly, if it were a spinoff, everyone would still be ****ed for no apparent reason...they'd say something about how NT and Capcom have no balls for NOT making it a reboot, or they'd say something about how this character fits nothing into the DMC universe and would complain about ANOTHER new main protagonist being added (because Nero had that effect for some strange reason). Honestly, the grass is always greener on the other side, but it would still have the same reaction.

a spin-off can still be in an alternate universe so DmC still wouldn't have to fit the main continuity. the game might still end up being a spin-off if Capcom makes DMC5 after this.

^ this is true and I agree with that. However, it would be so much better if they just started the series from scratch so we can have a good chronology and fans aren't trying to keep up with 2 series that are connected. That's like if Sega made games today for both Old Sonic and New Sonic (after the success of Sonic Generations). People would be pretty annoyed by that.
