I love Gohan! The only thing I hated about him during the Namek saga was that haircut. :lol: We can blame Chichi for that one. Super Saiyaman is a bit cringe worthy but I find it kinda cute. Gohan is a nerd. Go nerds!
I can’t see how hating Gohan is like hating Goku. They’re too completely different characters. They both have that same innocence but Goku is a true Saiyan, like Vegeta, and loves fighting and testing his strength whereas Gohan was made to fight to protect everyone from a young age. I think that Gohan would happily fall back into a life of peace and calm while Goku would grow restless and look for challenges.
Everyone is going to have their own opinions on characters, so each to their own. I can’t say I hate any of the DBZ characters, I guess it’s only Oolong that irks me a bit but I think he was made to be a bit creppy. I still think you’re a bit harsh on Gohan though.

Vegeta is far more experienced than Gohan & Gohan gets his ultimate transformation handed to him, while .
Gohan got what he did because he was Goku's son, Vegeta had no attempts at training in the other world OR anyone offering to unlock his full abilities.

Gohan cried because he was abducted by a greed demon and was forced to train in there with dangerous animals... then he was beaten up by vegeta and in the namek saga he did what goten&Trunks could never do being serious and acting smartly at occasions with vegeta&frieza

Vegeta was NEVER toriyama's fav character he was his 'least' fav character and he didn't really plan much for vegeta until his fanbase wanted more of him

Gohan is a well established character on his own and the cell saga really made a great to the dbz series unlike buu saga

Toriyama made his character next to Goku's role as hero but it just didn't work out since he never trained (in other words Goku's fanbase wanted goku to save the day not gohan) but still he had his awesome moment in buu saga for a while..

I Still don't see any frigging reason of hating his character he was NEVER A CRYBABY like Trunks or Goten who are far worse compared to gohan/goku at their age

The reason gohan never fought much in buu saga is because he isn't a saiyan and he doesn't feel like he needs to fight like goku or vegeta

but when gohan gets serious holy **** is that fun to watch ! i wish something like that really happened and made him go nuts against Super buu(gotenks Absorbed)

he's not like goku and that's not a bad thing... and yes Gohan got his "Goku's training" but it was no cake-walk or slow-paced progression like kid goku has in DB it was intense training in Timechamber

Well as far as vegeta's concerned he's the one to blame he just acted like a sociopath and then a grumpy saiyan and then again returned again as an insane outburst of anger that's why he doesn't have any special friends like goku has and its mostly is his stubbornness which made others to stay away from him (Remember that he was still an evil soul until Buu saga)

and those 'unlockings only work' with special and kind-hearted people like gohan/goku/piccolo not someone like vegeta

Kid Gohan trained with Piccolo against to fight against the Sayains Vegeta & Napa
The namek saga when he was needed he was less useful then Krillin.
kid Gohan was cowardly even with training from Piccolo, it took Goku to actually force him to grow somewhat of a spine. Yes Gohan did fight but half the time he spent yelling DADDY....DADDY! So don't tell me he isn't annoying.

He was just a kid he didn't know how to make food or go out on his own and he never had that kind of experience Chi-chi always treated him like that.. like a baby goku also treated him softly only trunks made goku train Gohan
he wasn't confident and energetic because he was in a far away place in the moonlight with a green demon yet he made piccolo his best Friend !

He wasn't raised like a saiyan or even like a fighter he never knew what saiyans can actually do hence he never was confident of himself

yelling 'daddy' is pretty natural for a child if he's abducted to a lonely place and forced to fight animals and train with a demon
and i didn't find that annoying at all instead it was like a mini-dragon ball series

LOL In Namek Gohan&Krillin both worked like a team and they both showed amazing feats in Dangerous situations

the point is Gohan just like Goku & Krillin had assistance, Vegeta had none.

Gohan literally survived when he was under the training of piccolo and he was actually more attentive and obeyed Piccolo as he said him to UNLIKE Goten&Trunks who just made fusion saga look utterly terrible

Well disliking a character is okay for me but 'Hating' is a too harsh.. and i was just trying to find a valid reason lol

EDIT: i've gone through many forums and it seems like these are common excuses of 'hating' Gohan :-

1) He didn't fight nappa
2) He didin't dodge nappa's attack
3) He's a crybaby pussy who doesn't like to fight
4) I love goku and i hate gohan for taking the spotlight
5) His personality is inconsistent in Ssj2

All of these reasons are silly and are self-contradictory statements

I mean look at how many planets/civilizations are destroyed by Freiza/vegeta/freiza's henchmen/buu/ destroyed in seconds and no one really revives those planets they only wish for earth&namek

I've even read jap subs they clearly read that they only wished back earthlings but what about the other planets kid buu blew up ? or what about the planets vegeta/freiza destroyed ?

Only earth&Namek matters other planets doesn't ? it seems unlikely that pikkon's planet may have been destroyed in the same way maybe broly ?

the only idea i get is that Dbz's universe is all about power if the planet's inhabitants aren't strong enough its going to be taken down or destroyed

also Frieza's race is still a shrouded mystery if freiza alone is as strong as ssj in his 100% then why is his race almost extinct ?

wait... IS THERE SOMEONE else who destroyed freiza's planet ? OR is Cold family some inter-galactic biological experiment like baby/cell ?

The Z-fighters not reviving other planets i'm chalking it up to

Sure the dragons have their limitation but in the course of time many planets are not revived they're simply destroyed

Yea as i said the Dragons are limited in power, Shenron could revive a planet but that's it. Reviving an entire planet & it's population would drain alot of his power, so you'd have to wait till a year later for another planet.​

Same with Porunga, it would be ever 130 days for each wish to revive a planet.
Maybe Ultimate Shenron could revive a galaxy.

I guess its all Toriyma's fault as he's just horrible in predicting the outcome of the story that's why many fans speculate that dbz would've ended in Freiza saga or cell saga because it has legit continuity problems its like he keeps making thing without joining them together constantly forgetting the stuff he made earlier

I've read that the Freeza Saga was supposedly the end.
I think it was obviously due to popularity that it kept going.
Even though DragonBallGT wasn't as great, i'm very glad it did.
We needed another super hero name to have around other than Superman.

Did you find DragonBallZ enjoyable ?
I found DragonBallZ enjoyable, i didn't care if it was supposedly to end after 1 saga or another, i didn't even think twice about it.
I think it was a happy accident that DragonBallZ was full of holes, & it gives much more room for fan speculation & increase DragonBall discussions from anime fans the world over.
Sometimes it's best not to read to much into things, you may end up disappointed with what you find.

Well i'm not 'disappointed' to know the truth and its simple that toriyama didn't care much about it because he never would've thought that it would be so long popular and discussed

I'm sorry but as likable i find goku i find him equally as a shallow/D-bag kinda character and Buu saga/movies/GT overglorifying him is just unfair on other well developed characters overshadowed by goku who's nothing more than a boring static protagonist

Vegeta- is my favourite by far. It’s just the way I am with most stories; I always like the bad good guy, though the term good is used a bit more loosely where Vegeta is concerned since he still is pretty bad until the end of Majin Buu saga. I just love to see the baddies develop into goodies (excuse the 7 yr old terms).


Goku- He’s absolutely adorable :3 His innocence and naivety is just sweet. I’m surprised that for a main good guy he’s a bit of a chauvinist. Chichi, do my washing, have dinner ready for me when I finish having a bath! He just doesn’t seem too considerate for a good guy.


Piccolo- I like Piccolo for the same reason as Vegeta. Once was bad, now good. I also like the relationship that developed between him and Gohan and how that helped him become more compassionate.


Gohan- I’m too lazy to type out again, I’m sure I said why I like him a few posts ago XD


Freiza- Any guy that can wear that shade of lipstick and pull it off better than me gets insta-win.


Master Roshi- He doesn’t do much in DBZ but after watching Dragonball, I find him frigging hilarious! I like how he took a totally comical character full of vices and yet made him a true warrior and to some degree, a respectable master.

Well i never really saw piccolo Jr as a 'bad guy' he just was shunned by human society and forced to live a harsh life and he just wanted to avenge his father by killing goku then he realizes that he shouldn't be doing that after all he belongs to a really disciplined&spiritual race i really hate GT for killing him

DragonBallZ, Gundam & Voltron are very popular animes as well as Neon Genesis Evangelion. DragonBallZ, Gundam are very recognisable anime names so this is them denying how great it is & shouldn't be taken serious.

Also you know the entire list is wrong when The Simpsons is number 1.
Truthfully i've forgotten The Simpsons existed at times, i haven't watched The Simpsons in yrs, really it's been yrs.
