A reasonable perspective?

Well no one can accuse DmC of having bad writing that's for sure and the voice acting.....I guess it did inherit that aspect from the old DMC games. But the action stuff looks really fun, still kinda iffy about the slow motion slicing even after seeing this. I really wonder how MG fans feel about this game though and if they are as nutty as some of DMC fans can be

DMC, DmC, and MGS have always had different takes on storytelling delivery. The MGR trailer seems like it went full blown campy, whereas MGS kept a serious tone for majority of it. One of my favorite things with single player games is story. It's more of a tie between story and gameplay and graphics. The graphics seem great in some areas and bad in others for the trailer, while the gameplay seems both unique, but also limited. The storytelling though seems like it'll have a hard time redeeming itself by the time the credits scroll. Of course I haven't played it yet, and there may be some saving graces. Either way I will pick it up, I just don't want to find myself muting cutscenes to avoid the acting.

well, besides DmC I, and many others, have been waiting more than 6-7 years now for FFversus13, last time we saw AMAZING gameplay was in 2011...and new gameplay in a couple of days. Go ahead and judge me xD

Versus13 still exist. I would think after all this time they would either cancel the game or remold it into ff15 because the whole 13 series was not a good move for Square Enix. They should let Lightning returns be it and just move on and take Versus technology and mechanics into a more viable game

It still exists, the only real bad move was FF14. Versus13 is the last "13" FF game I'll buy...really high hopes and it looks really amazing.

Yeah and the sooner they finish the sooner we can get a real Kingdom Hearts game, and not another handheld spinoff. I think ff13 got a lot of flack just for trying to do something different but it was a good game and 13-2 fixed a lot of the issues with the first but had it's own problems. I am hoping 13-3 is excellent and that the whole 13 series just goes away after that game and versus. FF14 looked really awful to me like a prettier version of 11 but still boring as hell. I hope that the new version of 14 is actually a good game so that Square Enix does not die

Yup. I actually like their name as Square Soft better. but FFversus13 is going to be amazing, honestly it's just a name..doesn't have much to do with 13 itself. But, new gameplay in a day or two, and hopefully...it has a release date. I bet they changed Noctis' outfit again.

Yeah Is there really going to be a new gameplay demo or something soon???
 
That's great, about time! I hope it comes out this year, there is no reason it should not be released in 2013 considering it was revealed in like 2006. That's the one thing that has me Really worried since development time that takes that long usually does not produce a good product
 
Versus13 looked great when I first saw it, but so did 13. I really tried to like 13 but they stripped it too much. I however thought the revamped battle system did work well, even if you were only in control of yourself and not your party. 13-2 just left a bad taste in my mouth with the acting, which it takes skill to have that bad of an impression in my eyes. From all the footage I've seen on Versus I have hope, but there is a lot we are NOT being shown, and pair that with this sloth's pace development cycle, and I am worried.

Yeah The actual plot in 13-2 left a lot to be desired, Noel and Sarah were just not interesting enough to command a whole game. Say what you will about 13 but I think Lightning was actually a really good character. I really hope 13-3 takes all the good stuff from the past two games and actually gives us a good story for once.

I really do wish that Versus will be a good game though. I am not going to hold it on a pedestal and I don't think it will be amazing since the fact that it has taken this long and has had no info since that amazing gameplay trailer a few years back. Add to that the fact that gamers have been gifted with some truly amazing rpg's in the years since it was announced and Final Fantasy was still the king and my standards as well as countless others have been raised in what constitutes a good rpg.

I will give you Lightning, and Fang to add to it. However, Snow's "Fabio" persona of the knight saving the damsel in distress, the Hope's Brady Bunch revenge plot, AND OH DEAR GOD VANILLE.....those left a horrible taste in my mouth. Then instead of giving me something like mouthwash to clear my pallet, they give me Sarah who sounds like an 8 year old squeekie toy, and Noel who tried so hard to be Tidus but ended up being one of those cheap imitation knockoffs, like Pear computers, or Best Buying, or Wallgreenish. No thank you. Versus-13 needs to have a likeable cast, towns, a deeper combat system (though I didn't mind 13's), and side quests until my thumbs bleed. If they can do that, then I am sold, but another linear quest of babysitting morons and children won't do it for me. IX was my favorite, and I think that always will be. Ironic considering my dislike for the helpless obnoxious kids in XIII killing my buzz. At least in IX they could hold their own. Vivi ftw!

Well, good news is, Versus-13 will have all of that.
Open world, and were talking really big, able to go into the city and explore all of the streets..kind of like GTA...able to take enemy vehicles and use them, Kingdom Hearts battle system, which I love. So far all the characters seem pretty likable, so far....we need more details is all.
