Should add, I don't wanna hear (or read in this case) "in the manga" I barely even read North American comics, I've only read a bit of Rosario Vampire, and Elfen Lied, and I'm thinking of reading Tokyo Ghoul. Just wanna know if the anime, as it's own thing, is any good to watch.

I would recommend.

The first 3 seasons are pretty good. After that the series gets plagued by filler unfortunately.

Bleach started out good but it went downhill after a while.

If you do end up watching it, I'd recommend using a guide to skip all the filler arcs as they are complete trash. Otherwise it's an enjoyable if schlocky and predictable battle shonen anime.
