No. Not because of NT, but because it was basically a test. DMC5 actually learned from the mishaps and mis-steps of DmC. Besides, the market doesn't want DmC (reboot).

Capcom ain't past giving a franchise to someone who isn't its original creator, look at DMC itself. So NT isn't necessarily part of the equation for DmC2. But if DMC5 sells well, and if the Steamspy rumors of 1 million copies sold on PC alone are true (we already know for certain it's Capcom's second biggest PC launch ever, and it's not even DMC's main platform), then I can't but see them continue on with a DMC6.

The most likely case is that we’ll get DMC 6. In any case a DmC 2 would be something I’d gladly welcome. Would be a dream come true if they did DmC 2 and DMC 6 but the likelihood is it will just be 6.

This has been weighing on my soul since I finished DMC5. And the reason is that in many ways, DMC5 already felt like what DmC2 was going to be thanks to borrowing a lot from it and so now DmC2 feels kinda redundant. I would gladly welcome both series carrying on but I can't see it happening. T_T

@Lain A lot though? I dunno, all it really took from it is small aesthetic things like slowmo finishers or the style announcer and stuff. To me it feels WAY more like what DMC4 could have been if it had been a complete game.

DmC 2 should explore the angle of angels in my opinion. Have their presence be shown. My idea was that they hated Nephilims as well and they had a deal with Mundus that they wouldn’t interfere in his work since even though he was the demon king and corrupt he had still established some balance between demonkind and humankind. It was like a truce on all sides until Dante, Vergil and Kat messed it up.

@Lain Yooo, I'd respond to that but Dragon hasn't played DMC5 yet, I think you just spoiled him with that post, delete it before he gets back online. The only thing I'll say without spoiling is that I find a couple of the things you mentioned kind of a stretch. Especially number 3 and 1. But even if I didn't, a game ain't just its plot. Still wouldn't count as "a lot" to me.
