Oh great. Lemme just prepare to say farewell to any dark connotations the X Men movies have been having, and to welcome juvenile jokes because "It's a superhero flick, gotta be colorful and light!1!!11!"...
@Foxtrot94 Unless they relegate X-Men to Netflix, where Daredevil, the Punisher, and Iron Fist are running around in R-Rated splendor....which I doubt Disney will do, since X-Men makes too much money at the box-office to do anything outside of movies.
@Foxtrot94 And by the way, the "uber-colorful, uber-comedic" approach the MCU's grown notorious for doing outright destroyed the Thor universe. DESTROYED it.
What I fear is that they'll treat X men like they did in the comics by having them be the bad guys in another civil war adaptation. Or worse...they'll completely strip Xmen of its representation for queers, POCs, and such for poop jokes and wolverine falling on Jean's boobs.
As an ethnic minority (I refuse to label myself as "Person of Color", because that sounds bizarrely regressive), I couldn't care less if X-Men removes its "representation" value, largely because Apocalypse had the racial swath of a McDonald's commercial, and didn't get a SINGLE characterization right. Not one.
