I would post the meme about the "War has changed" speech having Konami replace every "War" in the speech...but that would be beating a dead horse by now.
Konami has changed. It's no longer about intriguing story, great characters, or cinematic and musical mastery. It's an endless series of easy money games, through mobile apps and pachinko machines. Konami, and it's consumption of money, has become a well-oiled machine.
Gaming has changed. ID tagged players carry ID tagged mobiles, use ID tagged apps. Microtransactions inside their games regulate their behavior. Time control. Gameplay control. Entertainment control. Game control. Everything is monitored, and kept under control. Gaming has changed. The age of ambitious games has become the age of microtransactions. All in name of securing profit from franchises.
