Well, that's... Reassuring I suppose. From what I've read they added in a lot of stuff the original didn't have, like dismemberments and alternate characters. And apparently they took out stuff people didn't like, like only being able to do Ultimate Techniques at pure random.

reviews are better than the vanilla version but generally around the 6/7 range.

Hmm. Strange, most fans I hear talk about it are happy with it. I suppose it must be that critic/audience gap.

Yeah, that's what I meant by decent. They're fine with the way the product turned out.

Ah. Usually when I hear the word "decent" it means "average".

As someone who loved NG Black, iked Sigma 2 to a certain degree, and was mortified by both the vanilla version of 3 and Yaiba in its purest form, I can safely recommend Razor's Edge without hesitation. Its story is still weird beyond belief, but the combat is much better and it's EXTREMELY difficult. But I have a crucial question...which console do you have it for?

I thought razor's edge was only on one console. The WiiU can't keep an exclusive to save its life...

My brother owns the Wii U version of it, I just bought the PS3 edition.

Mmm...I'd get the Wii U version if at all possible. From the nightmarish stories I've heard from people, the PS3 and 360 versions are actually worse, on the basis that ONLY THE WII U VERSION got patched. The other versions were never patched, so they're both stuck with all of the launch bugs.

Ouch. Well I guess I could trade him for it.

You might want to consider it. This is the one instance where the Wii U version holds the advantage, on the basis that it actually works.

Strange, I've been reading the opposite. People have been complaining that the other versions have gotten continued support while the Wii U version was left behind.
WolfOD64

Huh. That's weird...I remember hearing about some vital patch that the Wii U version got that the others didn't. Oh, well.

I think I'll be avoiding both versions... just to play it safe.

I have Sigma 2 anyway, so it doesn't matter.

I suggest you avoid it :p NG3 was terrible and saying RE made it playable not saying much. Its about same quality as Yaiba.

Lol I can't avoid playing it, I just bought the damn thing. And for the record, I'm enjoying it.

as somebody who enjoyed all NG games, I can't avoid but consider last three complete disgrace. Its pretty said when supposedly complex game like NG can be beaten with one move only in all situations.
DreadnoughtDT
DreadnoughtDT
Well, Ninja Gaiden II is guilty of that as well. You could go through the entire game spamming Ultimate Techniques over and over.

not really in NG2 there were enemies who were immune to it. In NG3:RE you can spam 360T with Scythe and basically beatll all bosses and enemies with it.
DreadnoughtDT
DreadnoughtDT
Not that I have the scythe yet. Also, there is one complaint I have. The bosses are freaking ridiculously hard. Maybe I'm just not used to them but I don't recall any boss in NG2 having as much super armor as these guys.
