Hey, it'll be its own game, and have nothing to do with Silent Hill. Kojima won't be able to latch his tendrils to the storied legacy of the franchise, and that's all I care about. That's the ONLY thing I ever cared about concerning Kojima's scandal with Konami. The company kicking him out? THAT should've happened YEARS before he had the chance of becoming the company's VP.

That's not what I'm worried about.

I'm worried that this'll be the "next" silent hill, and kojima will be credited for "creating" or "revolutionizing" a new genre; much in the same way kamiya was when he claimed that resident evil's graphics will "kick ass".

I can see it happening -- you think that kojima and his devotees are bad now? Just wait.

Wait until he makes his "bayonetta."

Once he does...

...and when he does, it'll mean nothing. He's credited for "creating the stealth" genre, when people like Tom Clancy and Warren Spector had already made games worshiped by stealth fans, and for making the Mech genre from scratch w/ the overblown ZoE series, when Mech Warrior and Steel Batallion had already raked in the mech fans already. Kojima's games NEVER attract their intended audience...only casuals and fanboys.

It'll be worse this time around however, because reedus and del toro are involved.

We both know it means nothing in reality -- those casuals and fanfags are also essentially nothing (when compared to deeper, more mature fanbases like Shenmue) -- but those unwashed casuals will make life a living hell for anyone they disagree with.

In the long run, it won't matter -- history will show that Virtua Fighter and Smash Bros mastered the 3D brawler, Thief and Deus Ex mastered the stealth genre, and Alone in the Dark was forward-thinking in its use of sound design and (for better or worse) pre-rendered graphics.

Until then, we have to put up with ugly degenerates online claiming their japanese devs are their saviors and that no one can even compare.

People still laugh at that one Crow game from way back when, but it at least attempted to create a button masher out of fixed camera angles -- way before anyone else thought it was a good idea.

Don't forget the tough-guy tourney fags that think that Capcom makes better fighting games than SNK. Sure, the Big C has Street Fighter and Darkstalkers, but SNK had KoF, Fatal Fury, Garou, Last Blade, Aggressors of Dark Combat, and Samurai Spirits.

After losing a (serious) crush to a big C(unt) tourney fag... this isn't something I'd ever be likely to forget.

That guy probably liked SNK as well, however, so none of this matters.

Oh, the SNK community is full of elitist ass-wipes, to be sure...but at least SNK's games warrant the elitism. Capcom's don't.

I remember the ONE detractor of Metal Gear, a female writer whose actual job was to localize the script of MGS2 but leveling quite possibly the harshest criticism against the franchise, actually had her online arguments against it tactically censored and removed from webspace by Kojima himself. I hope that gibbering ****-whistle gets fired from ten more companies and gets his hipster glasses welded to his face.

DMC3: A Dickensian Tale

He'd probably complain about something that's supposed to be a video game being overrun by too many cutscenes.

It's true, Wolfang.

The DMC fanbase (including me) are, without a doubt, the abosolute worst fanbase to ever (dis)grace the internet.

Several rungs below the Sonicians, and just low enough to across the aisle with despair at the Kojimites who, for all their flaws, still have their own games and self-appointed messiah to lead them.

DmC might not deserve better, but it certainly doesn't deserve its fanbase, either.
