I keep seeing everyone hate on it but why? It's clear from the jump its remixing the canon but genuinely feels like it's made with love and respect to the series. A big complaint I'm seeing is they "nerfed" Dante but his power level is wildly inconsistent even in the games, he can fight demons and survive stabbings but a metal gate in DMC1 or 3 are enough to totally block his path. He can teleport and fly but doesn't just head straight to his objective everytime. Idk. I'm just willing to look past small story inconsistencies like I am the game inconsistencies

It is moreso to do with the drastically different lady we got, dante is the one thing most people unhappy with the show are okay with or accepting of. It is the supporting cast, story decisions and changes to lore that a lot of people are perplexed by or not happy with myself included. Dante and the action were the highlights of the show for me, it was everything else i either did not like or understand the change in, or was just confused by the decision.

*SPOILERS* I just finished watching the Netflix series and here’s what I noticed

Dante: Is voiced by Nero and the trope where he gets angry gives him more power doesn’t work anymore

Lady: Doesn’t cry that she killed her father and isn’t important to the blood ritual in closing Hell with Spardas Sword

Vergil: He doesn’t survive the attack on his home then meet Dante later like in Manga or DMC3 but instead is captured, then he is groomed by Mundas to be his new knight and take Spardas place, Nelo Angelo is also his Devil trigger?

Dante never was the one who got stronger with anger that was only ever neros sorta shtick, Dante only ever did it at the end of one and even then they do it MORE in the anime. That's how he even unlocked DT instead of getting stabbed.
As for lady although I can understand people's problems with the excessive swearing it did always feel VERY coincidental that Arkham married the woman who's the ancestor of the woman who sparda sacraficed

I know I was talking about Nero as Dante and how if her blood wasn’t used for the ritual in fact that’s how Arkham was able to become half demon successfully in canon since in the Netflix series he dies oh SPOILERS

"Remixing the canon" Yeah, so Adi Shankar has an excuse to throwing a bunch of references in to try and appeal to consooooomers. They emasculated Dante time and time again, made the only Christian a villain, replaced Holy Water with greed liquid, most characters are hideous to look at, Lady has more screen time than Dante, and dialog is worse than DmC.

Adi Shankar is a joke.
