Persephone's mother is another woman...who has not appeared in the game concept or any fanfic I have written yet. Vergil met her, after Dante defeated him when he (Vergil) was Nelo Angelo. Vergil had fallen into a deep depression, which had caused him to become a funtional alcholic, she helped him out of that depression....Vergil fell deeply in love with her....so he sees Persephone as their love child...
