Why is this game so good and how could it be better ?

I've returned to it recently and started a DMD playthrough on the HD collection, something I haven't done since I was 13. It holds up remarkably well. There is very little I'd change about it. Best enemy designs in the series, I think that's something that would be lost if they brought in...

I don't know why people are acting like the change is "too extreme"

But that logic is stupid. The brown muscly guy does not look like Dante. Nathan Drake does look like Dante though.

They're both clean cut and good looking. They have defined jawlines and funky hairdos. I'm guessing that's where the comparisons come from. To be honest, I think you'd have to be blind to not notice how similar they look.

I think the Hitler youth haircut is pretty cool personally. New Dante is still mostly ****, but nowhere near as **** as New Vergil. It's funny, the attitude of New Dante isn't really that far removed from the old guy, it's just the look that's different. New Vergil looks exactly the same but...

My reason for not liking the DMC4 system is that, for me at least, it kind of goes against the series ethos which has always been about playing the game however you want and I really think that the system DMC3 had captured that perfectly. Nobody played through DMC3 with the same Dante. in DMC4...

I don't see how you can call the style system restrictive when the whole design philosophy behind it was to expand the combat options available to him/her. Styles increased the range of possibilities for Dante in DMC3. It's funny, you can actually do more with a lvl. 3 swordmaster in DMC3 than...

DmC is not a bad game but it didn't bring a single thing to the series. All it did was take the technical emphasis that DMC3 brought to the series' combat and dumb it down. It's no wonder people didn't buy it. The new demographic Capcom wanted to appeal to didn't give the game a second look...

    Does anyone LIKE DMC2?

The only good boss in DMC2 was the firey thing at the end because it was the only boss enemy in the game that demanded something other than rolling around like a spaz shooting your guns. Argosax whatever is probably the worst boss in the entire series. That or the thing that flings big iron...

Top 10 Most Disappointing Games of the Last Decade

Yes, definitely one of the most disappointing releases of the past 10 years. That there were worse games released since then is besides the point. 'Decent' really isn't enough when you're following up on one of the finest action games of all time. DMC2 was a major letdown.

    4.6? Why not a 4.7?

    DmC Sales so far

The length it has been released doesn't matter, most games sell the great bulk of their units in the first week or two of release. Anyway, the revised sales figures comes directly from Capcom themselves. They do not expect the game to sell well, so who's to argue with them?

    Does anyone LIKE DMC2?

I get what you're saying, the basics for gunslinger and trickster are in DMC2 in an inchoate form. But just as I wouldn't want to retroactively re-evaluate DMC1 because of its archaisms I'd similarly resist giving DMC2 a pass because it laid the foundations for DMC3. It just wasn't a good game...

    DmC Sales so far

I won't deny a little schadenfreude on my part when DmC performed badly in sales, but this is a sobering post. Whatever your view is on DmC, there's not much satisfaction to be got from the destruction of your favourite franchise.

    Does anyone LIKE DMC2?

Telling off? Picking fights? Protective? No. If my posting style seems abrasive then I'm sorry. But if I do come across that way it's because it's a generally accepted truism amongst fans of action games that DMC is the game that pushed the genre forward into the 21st century. It's no surprise...

    Does anyone LIKE DMC2?

You only played DMC1 for the first time 2 weeks ago? In that case I'm really not surprised that its impact on the action genre escapes you. Look, it's not a question of how difficult it is or how obscure enemy weaknesses are. If you thrashed Nightmare so easily then that's great, but this...
