It ain't developed yet since I haven't thought that far. T_T
A near death experience from both sides, them both were badly injured and met each others in their dying moment. Their blood from their wounds connected and binded them both. You could've thought they died later but a magical healer found them and saved them. Afterwards they've always been together, companions supporting each others at all times.
