So in essence he's distant because he's ****ed off.
Well, with a personality like that, he most likely had some kind of trauma happen to him in the past. What if he was forced to kill someone he knew was innocent, or had a lover killed in front of him?
Of course. Do you have a personality for him? I could maybe get some ideas for a background off that.
