Since I have only played two of them, I'll have to say DMC3 is the best. I like the way you have lots of decisive choices, your weapons and style, focusing one your favorite playstyle.
FFXII is a little more diplomatic, less emotional and the main characters aren't getting that much development like in the other games.
The Final Fantasy series are known for their great stories, but only two has gotten me the most. I can easily say that Crisis Core and Final Fantasy X are the best ones when it comes to the story. ^_^
Many consider FFXII as a bad game due to it's more diplomatic story. <.<
Those who don't like a deep complex story and don't like turn based RPG's couldn't learn to love it.
Since Final Fantasy is my favorite game series I have it incredibly difficult to choose between them. My favorites are Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy XII, and Final Fantasy VIII as it was my first with great story and music.
