I mean, I didn't want to unequip them, that was terms I just didn't agree with. It's unfair for the game to cripple you like that, I thought. And then I ran away from every encounter possible and got to where I was supposed. xP

You UNEQUIP all metal/heavy equipment, then you use NOTHING in it's stead until you'll maybe find something later.
I ran through the dungeon with all my melee characters crippled. XD
