I just sit down, grab some paper, and start drawing. My subconcious gives me the directions and I follow.

Yeah, probably. Like I said, it was something that you would not have expected(proof: 'Holy crap! It's not scales! It's a bunch of glyphs/runes! That's awesome!') Also, it is just small straight and curved lines combined with dots in random grouping.

2: Yeah, that is meh specialty with drawing. I covered a whole peice of paper with them using red and blue ink. Took me a year to complete.
