It is not.
The paradigm system use the six different classes really well. You can set up six different class combinations you can use in battle, and change only outside battle.
The six classes are:
Commando (Focusing on damage)
Ravager (Focusing on highering the stagger bar)
Sentinel (Focusing on defending and luring enemies to attack them)
Medic (Focusing on healing)
Saboteur (Focusing on debuffing and put curses on your foes)
Synergist (Focusing on buffing your team)
Then in battle you switch between the combinations quickly to what suits the situation most.
Need healing? Then you maybe switch to:
Medic Medic Sentinel
Want to deal effective damage? Maybe you switch to:
Commando Ravager Ravager
Maybe you want to buff and heal yourself while keeping the stagger bar? Then you maybe should switch to:
Medic Synergist Commando
And so on...
