Well I don't think the whole "walking dead" zombie is plausible. If something like a zombie gets created by science, it will probably be reminiscent of the ones you saw in 28 days later. Thats why I always laugh when I see people coming up with their plan on how to deal with a zombie outbreak by reading "The Zombie Survival Guide", because all those tricks would prove useless when some infected person charges at him instead of shambling mindless corpses.
That, and the problem with most horror flicks these days is that it puts too much emphasis on gore and jump scares. I've never been a huge fan of horror, but the ones I've seen and liked actually focused on creating a unsettling atmosphere that got under you're skin.
It was. Dialogue was poor, the camera work was shoddy, and relied too much on cheap scares. Yeah, I know the Friday the 13th movies aren't meant to be deep, but c'mon they could've done better than that.
