The Evil Within 2 has been confirmed from an ad circulating on reddit. Mikami ostensibly returning to direct.

Well, let's just wait and see. Tomorrow Bethesda has their conference and if it holds true, which so far I can't find somewhere to preorder it from but that might change early tomorrow or after their conference, then I will pick up day 1. Hopefully they'll fix some of the issues the first game had and hopefully they'll also release a game of the year version of the first game. If they follow in suit from the first one then we can expect a Halloween release.

one improvement :

Ditch last gaemes precision aiming cam and just copy RE4's over the shoulder cam

I soooo hope its true. With REs new direction, thats the only hope for action horror games that I have

Yeah I still need to play the first one but for some unknown reason, I can't get into it.
... One day though... eventually.
... I hope!

So here's new trailer. Im fine with it…buuuut. I really worried it'll be another FPS horror….

Preordered yesterday.

I guess this is a compilation of everything that's been released thus far.

This game looks like the one to scratch the Silent Hill itch I've been feeling for years.

But I hope they don't pull that black bar/letterbox bulls*** again.
30fps probably can't be helped on consoles, since developers are still having problems getting 60fps to run but don't deliberately lock it on PC for that "cinematic experience" I never asked for.

You know you can turn those off, right?
I was playing the PS3 version and the patch to remove them came several months after the game's release.
By the time the patch exists, I have long obtained my Platinum Trophy.

It's easy to forget how it felt if you're simply looking back at the whole thing today but during the time between the game's release and the patch, I think console players of The Evil Within have kinda given up hope on getting a letterbox removal option.

I love survival horror games but I'm a super huge coward now. The trailer alone with all that milky gloop gave me the chills. Reckon the first Evil Within would be too much for me?

It has some very tense moments, but its not as nightmare fuel as Silent Hll for example. And for a change you can kill your enemies unlike Outlast etc.

I don't like that whole white goo effect. It reminds me of a Dove commercial. Feels clinical.
I agree, but I think that I like looks of some creatures that looks like f they infected by it. Overall I have weird feeling that its jab at RE7 with all of it black goo visuals.

Aku sounds like a nightmare so I wouldn't even try.
It can be frustrating but it's not impossible.
I recommend getting the fire harpoon upgrade as early as possible, so you can stealth-kill troublesome enemies from a distance.
