Kamiya's Poll

On the 12th of November Kamiya put up a 'poll' on Twitter by asking his followers which they'd prefer: a DMC sequel or another Okami. Which would you vote for? I'd go for DMC as I think Okami works as a standalone but DMC has sequels that have unanswered questions.

As it stands Okami is storming the poll with it getting 62% of the tweets/'votes' with DMC sequel only having 32%.

A poll on a DMC forum full of people thirsty for another game won't really end up with any other result except DMC wining.
That said, with all I've seen and heard, voting for DMC5 under Kamiya's guidance feels kinda like selling my soul to the devil.

An orgy of silliness, jokes and nonsense, worse than so much criticized DMC4, in terms of story.

In terms of gameplay, Itsuno does it better.A lot of fans said that directly to Kamiya: DMC is in good hands with Itsuno, so he can do a Okami game.

Funny enough nobody mentions here Okami beat VJ 75% against 25% in japanese poll and 62% against 38% in western poll. Essentially the same results were given when was Okami versus DMC.

Damn YOU! Kamiya! That is NOT a fair poll.

Okami was one of the greatest games I've ever played (so much so that we're making a video on it) and there is no way I would ever not want the sequel that was made by the man himself but this is the impossible question. I've waited, patiently, for DMC to get a sequel, one that I'd be satisfied with, which the last 2 games don't qualify as. I don't know if Kamiya can really do it without Mikami, which has always been my advecation (not a word), but I'd like to see him try, since him and his team were the original makers and if nothing else they know action and because I've heard it from the horse's mouth I know no one knows Dante like Kamiya does since by their own admission the cats at Capcom don't know what makes him tick.

I want both, pretty desperately, too. There is no way I'd not want them but by mere merit of been disappointed by DMC's direction and years long pause with the promise of more from DMC that I'd pick it. Still, not a fair question.

I don't think it's an actual poll, just the guy wanting to know. If the decision was ever brought up it would not be left up to something as flimsy as a twitter poll.

It's even simpler : everyday a lot of people ask him to do this and that. These are the most requested , so out of curiosity , he made these polls.

You still need Mikami. He was the one who held Kamiya's high horses.

I'm not entirely sure it would have such a dark tone, given literally every other game Kamiya has made sense DMC1. Even MGR struggled to retain the more serious tone of the Metal Gear series.

Ah, yeah. My mistake. Either way, the guy has a greater track record for lighthearted camp. Makes me wonder if DMC1 wasn't originally a prototype of Resident Evil if it would have had the gothic tone as well...
