Right? Here I was, daring to hope for a few additional missions, and what do I get? Characters I didn't ask for instead of the Vergil campaign I'd been demanding since the initial announcement.

You arent the only one:frown: Here I was looking forward to a Vergil campaign and was even expecting it given that small teaser to find its probably just a beginning cutscene before he goes through Nero/Dante levels. I really hope this isnt the case.

That's what we're all hoping for, but a campaign is looking a lot less probable, now that we've seen the other new features. I waited four months for this? :facepalm:
Hah. Maybe in typical Capcom fashion, they'll release Vergil's campaign as DLC.

Unfortunately.I wanted to play as Lady and Trish(specially Lady) but not at the expense of Vergil. He is more relevant than the girls are to the story given he is Nero's dad. I thought we were going to expand on Nero's origins as that is a major problem fans have with DMC4 through Vergil but I guess I was expecting to much of capcom:meh:

Why hype us up so much for vergil for just playing the main campaign as him . They know he is a fan favourite .We may be wrong and man i hope we are. Tbh ill buy the game because its dmc but after even this thinking about giving capcom my money saddens me.

That's not what I said K for.
It was mostly because I was hoping Lady and Trish would have a bigger part in the game as part of the story, but it seems it'll be just like Vergil in DMC3; just skins and a one second opening cutscene.
Not that I'm not excited for it, I really am, but...meh.
But I won't be happy until I KNOW that one of the alterate costumes has a beige trench coat as an alternate costume and is like a film noir throwback. If that's not in it, then I don't care.
Still intrested in seeing Vergil.
All n all this game will have a lot of characters to offer to play as and that's great. Whether this is an ushering in of more from the classic series or just a final send off to the series is anyone's guess though. But Capcom needs money so it's probably the first.
I could be more excited but...it's still DMC4. Why should I be excited for an entry in the series I never liked?
Thus why I just said; "K"

They did it because they know hes a fan favorite thats why.Would as many people be as excited if it was Trish or Lady in the teaser?Of course I'm saying this if it turns out there is no Vergil campaign and just milking.

Weirdly enough, they only write about skins for Lady and Trish, would that mean no new stuff for Dante/Nero and Vergil?

I'm kind of split about this... On the one hand we get to play as Vergil, Lady and Trish with new moves etc. On the other hand we have to play pretty much the same game twice in each campaign due to the backtracking. Also fighting the same bosses twice as the same character within only a few missions sort of bugs me. At least the vanilla version gave you a new character to fight the boss the second time around.
And like everyone else I'm a bit peeved that Vergil isn't given his own missions, if they had at least told us this from the onset I'd have been fine with it but the tease at the end on the DmC launch trailer suggested we'd have new Vergil content.
I will still buy the game but colour me disappointed!

I know that's why you said "K." You like the new features, but aren't super-excited for them. You're just looking forward to playing as the new characters, and that's it. K?

I'll have some fun playing as Trish and Lady, but not as much fun as I'll have with the evil twin.

Come on guys, don't kill the hype this soon. Don't you think the fact Vergil having a "Vergil Game" separated from "Trish/Lady Game" literally means we'll get more of it? After all, Just giving us new playable characters and leaving it like that is pure laziness and -I hope- Capcom knows it won't do much if they want to sell a 7 year old game. Keep hoping for the best.

Well the Lady and Trish costumes are said to be bonuses so extra costumes for Dante, Nero and Vergil could still be a possibility.

I simply read it as Vergil in one Mode and Trish/Lady as Doppelganger type of Gameplay or like in Castlevania Portrait of Ruin
