Oh. My. God. They actually did his first look? His CLASSIC look?

And he even comes with Alastor....not Rebellion. ALASTOR!

The best news is that NECA's making it...and their figures tend to be pretty affordable. It's not like Play Arts Kai or Medicom, where the price climbs up as far as the $80-100 range.

Definitely getting this...he'll look badass next to my Simon Belmont and Hellsing Alucard. Then, I'll have three monster hunters. :D

I nearly fell from my chair when I saw the NYCC picture of Dante.
Because what a lot of you may not know is that this figure was first announced SEVEN years ago.
It got delayed... and delayed...and delayed. And after showing only a few prototype pictures it just.... never came out.

I still have pictures on my computer from the old prototypes, and one of them is fully painted from a magazine back then, which seems to be the exact figure on display now. Can't post it, seems I need 10 posts first. But if you google "neca dante dmc prototype" in images, you'll find a few of them.

I asked NECA (in 2011!) the following on twitter:

@NECA_TOYS just wondering, whatever happened to that dmc Dante from a few years back. Why wasn't it released? (it looked awesome)

Their response was:
We thought so too but someone at Capcom Japan didn't so we weren't approved to release him. Shame!

So it's VERY interesting why Capcom now suddenly decided to release it after all. I feel like Capcom thought that Dante wasn't cool anymore, because that's when they gave us Nero and they must've been thinking of the reboot too around that time. And now they've realised Dante is still loved, so they release it after all. But that's just my guess...

Also...first post! Hi all, long time lurker from before DMC4.
Had to make a first post sometime right? :)

I unliked this post just so I could like it again. :inlove:
