Does the Yamato only appear in Limbo?
You can clearly see Vergil's Yamato in his hand when he meets Dante (0:52) and Dante's rebellion is not seen, meaning that they are not in Limbo.
It would appear that the answer is NO.

If the Rebellion only appears in Limbo, and Vergil's Yamato does not, what does this mean? Would this also mean that Vergil does not have a tattoo similar Dante?

Notes:
- Vergil's katana sword is the Yamato and Dante's is the Rebellion.
- Dante's tattoo is where his sword comes from, which is why it only appears in Limbo

It's possible that while Vergil seems to have a greater control over his powers or whatever, having white hair as a child, Dante could have been groomed for something different, and Sparda and Eva thought to give him Rebellion, and by proxy, the ability to absorb other weapons.

It's possible Vergil could have some scarred marking on his back of well, but something styled after the Yamato. Given Vergil's hair is white and it has something to do with the powers he and Dante have, I'd guess it's because Vergil's learned to control his abilities to such a level that he can wield the Yamoto outside of Limbo, where as Dante is the less gifted/less experienced one and still has a way to go before he can do the same.

It's like if you study their fighting styles, Vergil's is a lot more graceful while Dante has a habit of stumbling. It shows Vergil trained professionally while Dante has only learned from his time in Limbo or getting into fights outside of it with people.

So, it's possible Dante might eventually gain the ability to wield the Rebellion outside of Limbo.

This makes a lot of sense. Although it's a bit funny because Dante apparently beat Vergil in swordfighting when they were younger :p

But yeah, this makes a lot of sense actually.

Seeing as how we've seen Vergil stabbing Yamato into the ground where there happens to be a sacred rune (reminiscent of the true Hell Gate in DMC 4), I'm guessing his sword has some special properties, and it would make sense for them to have something to do with Limbo.

I'm actually kind of liking the theory that Yamato is only in the real world due to Vergil's badassery.

Vergil: Train Dante, and soon you too, will be skilled in the art of badassery
Dante: *snorts*
Vergil: What?
Dante: Nothin, wanna run that by me one more time?
Vergil:...The art of badassery
Dante: *sniggers*
Vergil: STOP LAUGHING I'M BEING SERIOUS GOD DAMMIT!

It could be possible Rebellion is a Spiritual Weapon, while Yamato is a Physical Weapon. Kat is a spiritual medium capable of seeing into limbo, which is a spiritual place. the tatoo of rebellion on Dante's back is resonating with his soul. When his soul is neutral, its the human world. When his soul is corrupt, is the Demon realm, When his soul is Serene, its the Angel realm. Yamato can pass on to all the realms, but lacks spiritual powers. Rebellion and Yamato are two sides of one coin. Spiritual and Physical. Eva must have passed her spiritual strength to them both, while sparda passed on his physical strength. All Dante and Vergil has to do(mainly Dante), is to learn how to channel their powers bestowed upon them, into their weapon. Vergil must have accepted his Demon side which caused his physical strength to amplify, perfect for his physical weapon. Dante on the other hand, has stayed neutral, therefore he can jump between all three realms.

We don't even know if the Angels have a realm of their own, or if Limbo is this universe's version of the demon world, or a dimension the demons placed over the Human world in order to subliminally control.

Well, see...you do this thing...with your wrist, and you gotta make sure to have your legs spread apart evenly. You'll do like this...this...woosh thing.
I tried this.

it's true, alot of wooshing to be had. Especially if you rotate the wrist in a circular fashion.

This all sounds oddly crude for some reason, oh god...

But, isn't Dante wielding Rebellion and Aquila when he acquires it after defeating Bob Barbas while being in the real world inside the Raptor News Network tower?
