Tameem possibly working on RE7

It's not just that it's not like older Resident Evil titles, it's a terrible game in general.
This man explains it quite well.

Not to mention the awful inventory, forced online play, action movie like set pieces, and overall, feeling nothing like what survival horror actually is.

They did say they want the Call of Duty audience to play Resident Evil 6. I think game companies should just pander to their own audience. if people want to play Resident Evil nothing is stopping them, forcing accessibility ruins a game and it shows.

I gotta give DmC credit where it's due it at least resembles and plays like a Devil May Cry game very loosely. On to Resident Evil 6 again. The series lost it's focus when it added forced co-op and for gamers to be immersed in a cinematic experience rather than a game.

These fixed 'cinematic' camera angles actually benefit a survival horror game.

Mashing buttons to climb up something does not, the only horror you're going to experience is finding out you'll have to start all over again with a sore thumb if you failed at the Quick Time Event.

well there is revelations coming out and i might actually buy it AGAIN because it was such an enjoyable game, and with the cost of gaming development today developers can't just put their fingers in there ears to bill collectors and workers and say "hey guys, at least we satisfied out niche fanbase, isn't that enough" i mean, look what happened to thq...

Hey, to be fair, Alchemist the real reason THQ went down was because of stupid corporate ceos and not the games that it was publishing they and by they I mean their clueless ceo at the time invested an insane amount of money on the udraw tablet, literally bet companies future on it, and it bombed hard. No one seems to mention this enough. That was the primary reason THQ went into a death spiral with its debt, and needed every game to sell insane amounts of copies. If it wasn't for udraw THQ would still be around today.

Yeah, its sad really. LOL. I love that you hadn't heard of it. I was the same way was just bored and wanted to research the whole situation and thats how I found it. It bombed SUPER hard.

Resident Evil is already westernized. Why do you think they speak in English? All characters are English. Everyone has normal hair color. Theres no harm if they reboot it. All i know is that they better not mess up Jill's look. oh and another thing. They better not make the game play nothing like this lol. Skip to 2:10.
"noooo dont goooo!"

CAPCOM follows the money but they cant get it right , they made resident evil to COD to attract shooter fans they failed they started westernizing their games first DmC but not a lot money for them .

Dear CAPCOM $$$ STICK TO YOUR Gunz or you wont survive next gen

Remember PS2 era great games CAPCOM made RE4, DMC , Okami and where the hell is onimusha now ?

Then that is even more ridiculous.
The fact that they've switched genres entirely proves my point that Resident Evil has gone haywire.

All I have to say is, if RE6 was so great than why are Capcom considering going back to Resident Evil's "horror roots" with RE7?

Capcom obviously must being seeing something that the fans of RE6 are missing if they are considering that.

And also, Capcom called RE6 a "Dramatic Horror" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resident_Evil_6

no it doesn't it, the name of the game is biohazard, meaning that characters have to deal with B.O.W.s and chemical agents that are supposed to enhance human performance but backfired when the technology was still being discovered, by re6 that technology is basically mastered and succeeds in enhancing soldiers -__- which was the entire point in the first place

No, the entire point of the franchise was to instill fear into gamers with the plot involving bio-terrorism.
You wouldn't say that Devil May Cry is about Dante's shop, would you?
The title isn't always the main point, and the main point of Resident Evil was horror.

I usually agree with you, but gonna have to differ. :p, I didn't play the new resident evil, but I don't think it should have abandoned the genre it itself created. It might have actually been nice since the new Dead Space became an action epic that Resident Evil, the game that made the survival horror genre, came back to reclaim its position as the premier game in that genre.

that's not to say that the game isn't fun, it has horror gameplay in leon campaign, all of leon's enemies are zombies

the game's story and characters have evolved to the point that it can't be a slow paced corridor horror shooter with limited ammo anymore, why would chris and piers get limited ammo if they are literally "getting paid the big bucks" to deal with this stuff and are fully capable of dealing with them

Yeah, to be honest, I don't much enjoy survival horror games or games where you have to micro manage inventory. But yeah, I'll update my thoughts when I play it. Maybe you're right, since I played a little bit of dead space 3 and the awkward movement after playing a game like DmC where its fun to control your character, it was just too much for me to keep playing.

Here is an idea... let's not follow Chris, Leon, or other characters anymore.
Why not have self contained stories?
I remember when Resident Evil 4 was going to be about paranormal events rather than a zombie outbreak.
That would have been interesting.

I was hoping the Leon Campaign would have what I desired, but alas, it didn't.
Now that we have huge amounts of ammo, and a partner, there is no tension in fights. I can now easily beat up zombies with my bare hands and not even use my weapons.
I never felt any tension. I never had a sense of hopelessness and despair. There was no hostility in the atmosphere.
I was never at death's door, just barely making it. I never felt dread at the sight of a zombie.

Instead, it's a corridor shooter. Most of the zombies die without putting up a fight.

why would we have a random generic character as a main character instead of following the main characters, sorry but the re universe doesn't need its own nero

I suppose a new character for RE wouldn't be awful as they could be someone normal(ish) but I agree in them not being generic but in general Leon and Jill are fan favs while the rest, although liked, are not adored by the masses. If a new character was given good motivation then it would be good - I feel that The Walking Dead should be an inspiration for the next RE in terms of character development and feeling helpless.
