I really don't like the idea of having any new protagonists in the series, though.
What do you think WILL happen if they make a sequel?

It be interesting for them to create a whole new character to take over since DMC was originally meant to have a new cast each game according to kamiya.
So id be cool with it. Granted Nero didnt pan out but they relied too much on Dante to sell him rather than fully making him stand out. Plus people had all this baggage about what they wanted so he might have been better recieved had they resolved DMC2 first.
So the 4th's snake idea of waiting till the third game and doing time skip etc might have been better.
