to be fair the original series never took itself seriously and nobody ever had normal cloths so i think dante would if it just right. The anime proved that.

And also to be fair not to many videogame characters would be able to walk into a bar and not look weird now would they?
My point is that this guy seems to have 0 respect for Dante's character.
It would kinda be similar to me being put incharge of rebooting Spiderman and making him look like Brad Pitt with a brown furry spider suit.
Then telling all the spiderman fans that the old spiderman sucked and I think this spiderman is much cooler.

Well, with all due respect... Spiderman looks ridiculous. Marvel has revamped X-Men's costumes many times to make them look cooler and more modern, but Spiderman more or less remains the same with just minor changes. I think they should update his look as well, though not into a spider furry costume... Because that's just... eww...
I get why you think Tameem Antoniades (TA) seems like an arrogant prick though. He has said some unfortunate things, but as wallenb mentioned, he might be frustrated with all the hate he's been getting due to this game which has affected his judgement on the DMC fanbase. In a way, his attitude is justified, but he shouldn't display it in public like that - that's just unprofessional.
As a Japanese hero character, Dante looks cool. He's got that style. But in modern day, his appearance wouldn't be taken seriously, so I get what TA is getting at with such a statement. His re-invision of Dante is supposed to reflect how a badass character would appear like in modern times - or rather, how he thinks a badass character should look like in modern times. But if it wasn't for Capcom, who told NT to completely revamp Dante's look to start with, I don't think he would appear this differently, so blaming NT for those changes isn't really justified.
But overall, the angry and loud fanbase's attitude is reflected on TA which is why I think he seems like the arrogant prick you guys so colourfully portray him as.

I love reading, but that's just way too much text and I stopped reading halfway through.
Also, I get where Tameem is coming from with new Dante being fashioned to look 'cool', and he needs to think outside the box. I wrote a note to him stating that he needs to turn his bloody telly on and have another look at the past riots that had burned the reputation for England as the 'gentleman and ladies' country', because HIS Dante might as well have been running around with those hooligans and looting and hurting people, whatnot with his dress-sense, his smoking habit and his sadistic aggressiveness seen in the first trailer. Maybe looking overseas at other Western countries to get an idea of what is deemed 'cool' there will actually help making his version of Dante 'cool'. Just a hint, Tameem.

I'm giving this game a chance, and I'm being optimistic about it, but I absolutely HATE the new look for him. It's his blonde hair and blue eyes and his cute face that had me tripping over my feet to get into the gaming world and into DMC specifically. If it hadn't been for that, I wouldn't have given DMC a second glance, and I probably would have left the gaming-specialty to my little brother and stuck to my literacy alone.
And NT said that Limbo City is the real world that is controlled by demons behind the scenes/through an alternate dimension that exists alongside the real world (I don't think I'm explaining it as well as they did, so sorry about that). I thought that tidbit was already posted here on the forum? Or is it just me? ._.

yes, asmodaius, you should be upset, because only True dmc fans know if its not the same its stupid. All of us True Dmc fans should go to a mental hospital and point and laugh at all the different looking people because we all fear change, right guys!

I don't have to care about a game because its labelled DMC. That doesn't make me closed-minded or against change. Change is good so long as its good change. If I cared about every game, even ones that bored me to death my head would explode, simple as that. Nothing about the reboot grabs my attention, so why care?
Side note: This whole mentality of seeing people as a supporter/skeptic/hater first and a member of the forums second is getting really old...

and i can understand that if a game comes out with "dmc" on it i am instantly interested in it. (hops on wagon) but i too was shocked by the changes, wouldnt say i completely dismissed it though. That, to me, is completely unfair to hard working people trying to keep my love for dmc alive. I didnt make the game in the first place so why would anyone listen to me about how to make a game? i've only been in game design school for 1 year and trust me, its really hard to do. lots of people have ideas for games and they always have their two cents about what you should make, but ultimately its your decision. People say that dmc3 was made with the fans in mind, but i'm pretty sure they just expanded on dmc2 and added a style system. DmC just seems like an Organized dmc4 and expanded more on air combos. But hey, speak your mind, live your life, play your games and just have some fun!

Does anyone agree that if Ninja Theory have such a great way of telling stories and explaining things, then they should of just worked on Nero's origins instead of Dante's? Since Dante, whether it wasn't elaborated on much, already had a back-story we were aware of.
