Chapter 1 – Seeing is not Believing
Gray went for a walk , down to the local supermarket to get the weekly shop when he noticed that his next door neighbour Mrs White was getting into a car with a man whom Gray didn't know.
He didn't think anything of it as Mrs White was known in the area for getting into unknown cars and driving away. Gray walked on towards the supermarket while thinking about what he needed for the meal he was going to cook for his girlfriend Emily . They had been together for a couple of months and Gray wanted to cook her a decent meal and surprise her by asking her to marry him.
After getting all the shopping he headed back home and saw Mrs White slamming the car door and screaming . He couldn't hear what she was saying due to passing cars and buses. She walked away in tears and Gray noticed that she wasn't wearing the same cloths as before . She was wearing a red jumper and jeans with rips in both items.
He went over to Mrs White to ask if everything was fine but she told him to **** off and leave her alone. Gray didn't give up easy as he followed her home as he was going the same way. On the way back Gray noticed that Mrs White was getting more agitated so Gray decided to back off and go the other way.
He got home and cooked the meal and waited for Emily to come home from work but after waiting until 8pm he got worried as she works at maximum 50 mins away and he didn't have a car so he couldn't pick her up that day. At 10.30 Gray got a knock at the door , he answered and the news he was about to hear would change his life for ever.
The police were standing at the door and asked if a Gray Jones lived here , Gray nodded and the police come inside and sat down and told him that they were sorry but they found a body on the motorway and identified it as Emily Walker .
Gray broke down in tears and started to shout and the police found it hard to control him . They asked if he wanted to see her but he declined as he didn't to see her like that.
7 years later
Gray woke up and started his normal daily routine of having a shower , brushing his teeth and getting dressed for the day ahead. He now works with year 7 pupils as a science teacher . He finally got over his girlfriend's death and decided to follow her footsteps .
He just finished teaching class 7b and went for lunch in the local pub, as he walked toward the pub he saw Mrs White doing the usual getting into the cars of unknown people so Gray didn't pay attention until he saw the person in the car . Gray didn't believe his eyes to begin with but soon he could only face the truth. Gray run over to the car and shouted to Mrs White to get out of the way , she did and Gray saw the person he much loved and after 7 years he finally saw Emily again.
