Why it is better that Ninja Theory is making DmC and not Capcom.

I think NT is the lesser of the two evils. I can't stand Capcom and I'm glad they aren't making DmC, but I'm not a NT fan. Enslaved was bad and I never played Heavenly Sword. I do appreciate them putting their heart into their games an try to craft an emotional story, though.

^ No it doesn't. Their not breaking through the American market like they used to. It's like there backing away slowly.

It doesn't only hurt their fans, it also hurt themselves. The more they try and push through alot of their cr@p, the more fans they will lose. It will result in them going bankrupt and closing down and that means there will never be more Devil May Cry, Street Fighter, Megaman, Resident Evil etc.

*Heart skips a beat* Don't utter such things. For it may come to pass.

I've said this once and I'll say it again: Capcom seemingly can't handle their own messes. To them, it's all about profit and trying to increase the demand of the masses, and this has caused them to make alot of bad moves not just on how they sell their games but how they develop them as well.

DMC is a prime example. It was a good story from the get- go, but Capcom didn't like its sales, neither the sales of its siblings games, Viewtiful Joe and Okami, so they screwed Kamiya over for it. Ultimately, this led to a series of ups and downs as they wanted to keep the franchise alive and make it big. Now, they are placing in the hands of a not-so-well-experienced developer in the hopes that someone else can make up for their mistakes.

This crazy guy has a point.

That's in the past. If you look at Capcom's recent activity, you would see our point.

- Megaman Legends 3 cancelled. Not amusing Megaman fans.
- Megaman Online only being available in Asia. (Those b@stards!)
- Marvel VS Capcom getting an Ultimate edition with more content, but has to be bought as a seperate game, cheating those who bought the original game. (At least Super Street Fighter 4 had ALOT more content and changes from the original SF4 which excuses them for making it, imo, though many people raged about that too. Oh, and the Arcade Edition became DLC instead of yet another new game)
- Megaman shown as a big fat tub of lard in SFxT. Angering Megaman fans.
- 1/3 of the character roster locked into the disc. (will be DLC for people to buy at a later date)

And a few things relevant to this forum:

- Devil May Cry 4 not being about Dante, but about Nero with sloppy gameplay and not explaining Nero's origins properly.
- Capcom chooses not to make a DMC5 to explain Nero's past or connection to Dante/Vergil/Sparda.
- DmC: Devil May Cry being a reboot and Dante got a makeover. Raging DMC fans!
- Devil May Cry HD collection not working properly for several PS3 users. Sloppy HD work amongst other things.

There are probably more to add to that list, but I can't think of more at the moment.

the thing capcom had their chance to figure out DMC but they didn't so im interested in seeing what nt comes up with.

plus most problems with the pr is their fault.

I have no sympathy for Capcom anymore. They seem so jerkish now. I mean my friend, who LOVES Megaman, was excited for a new Megaman to come out, only for Capcom to cancel it at the last second. My friend was depressed for weeks. I'm actually glad DmC is given to Ninja Theory, cause at least NT isn't as big of money grubbers as Capcom, and NT can tell a REAL story and not just make up random crap *COUGH* DMC4 *COUGH* I think I got ChocolateGhost79's cold.

Anyway, I just feel bad for Ninja Theory because they were a small development, wanting to do more, so Capcom threw them a boner (DMC) to help them out, only to discover that that bone was a bone with meat on it. Now NT is getting hated on like no tommorrow. However some fans seem to be excepting New DmC now a days. But still, Capcom is dying, and if not for Resident evil, Street fighter, possibly DMC, etc, they'd be the throne of Square-Enix in Japan right now.

But unlike Capcom, most game publishers who continue developing games don't just make them for profit. Generally, game publisher- developers try to make the most out of their games to make an enjoyable experience while trying to remain consistent with what they have already done, that's why some franchises grow as big as they do. Capcom throws consistency out of the window under what I suppose is some form of mentality that people don't care about that.

Capcom is my 2nd favorite game company, so now I will own you in a battle of logic

I shall make the counter- claim that CEOs are the company, their ideals shape the company's perception on quality and achievement. Thus any developer who is under the authority of said company must adhere to those principles for they are paid by the company to produce games that are suitable to their standards. So, because of this, the developer puts their targeted audience to the side in order to create a game that the company is willing to publish. This is especially the case for when foreign developers are hired to re- develop a company's game, they must do so under what the company views as the best method of development. In NT's case, Capcom said to go ballistic, and they had done so despite knowing beforehand how the fans will react, which is good case of not giving a crap about their fans.

*clap clap clap* You are trying to argue with son of Discord, enjoy watching the noose tighten around your illogical arguements neck.

to be honest i dont like capcom that much any more i mean lately theyve just been F!*!"£ing with fans just to make money. the street fighter X Tekken game for example which if you didnt know charged people who bought the game money for "DLC" which was ALREADY INSTALLED IN THE GAME!" as well as loads of other bull **** that generally makes me wanna strangle someone. i kinda welcome NT simply because its a new take on the DMC universe. i think the creators felt like they hit the limit with DMC3 and were trying to make a better game by adding some new ideas into it hence why they made nero. i think DMC is just a natural progression from this. Also we cant just blindly approve or hate a game before we ACTUALLY play it look at Mass Effect 3 they majorly screwed fans over with the ending which *SPOILERS" SUCKS ASS!!! so im looking forward to the new DMC game the gameplay looks amazing and the artwork look spectacular if you need further convincing i ask you read the following article and make your own decision from there http://uk.ps3.ign.com/articles/121/1216590p1.html
