Why does Dante have Ebony and Ivory when not having a reason to have them yet

Avenged Sorrow

Dark Slayer
he didnt have them when he was a child when he killed Demons
and if he forgot his past than what was his reason for having them
and how did he obtain them?

It was explained how he got them in the first book but in this reboot it's anyone's guess...I do kind of fancy their new looks though..kind of..

Saddly, despite NT's best efforts, their writing wasn't safe from plotholes. This one in particular is bad because it makes E&I appearance more forced than anything, just to keep consistency with the previous games. The fact that they're now "demonic guns" instead of custom made normal guns infused with Dante's own demonic power doesn't help the case either.

could be like kablooey appears like a stun gun in the human world but are actually guns in limbo. other then that yep NT dropped the ball on weapons background

another thing with the whole Sparda/Eva thing
since Eva is an Angel in this one
then that makes the whole "humans are useful too" thing useless
unless that's what Kat is for

maybe different properties in demon world like only single shot then reload in human

if demons are as weak as humans in the human world (kyle rider is a good example) then why cant the same follow with demon weapons interestingly though is how the shotgun is explained it takes ebony and ivory many shots to take out a stygian ad it shoots like 20-50 a second (derived from fire 10 thousands shot from ebony/ivory) yet the shotgun has a lot of power ands it charge shot is devastatingly where as E and I's only really juggles them

Ironically, aside from Arbiter and Osiris, it was the game's two least important weapons, Revenant and Kablooey, ones which had an actually deductible origin. One can infer that Revenant was either invented by The Order has a weapon against demons or discovered like them. Meanwhile, all we need to know about Kablooey is told by Vergil: it's a powerful demon weapon disguised as a normal taser gun in the human world.

However, Aquila and Eryx, which become two of the most used weapons in the whole game, just pop up out of nowhere, Aquila being the wors offender. Eryx appears when you kill Succubus, a demon, it's a demonic weapon. Maybe you absorbed some power in her or something. Then you kill Bob, another demon, and get...an angelic weapon. And that's when you realize that Eryx's appearance was just as out of nowhere as Aquila's just then.

eyrx makes some sense, if you follow cerberus logic, but i have to agree Aquila was damn random an angel weapon being absorbed from a demon? da hell? unless demons also have the power to absorb angel weapons, thus corrupting them?

Well, demons do eat angel hearts. So it could be that Bob did that to an angel and happened to get the weapon with it. Phineas does say that there was Nephilim hunt, so who's to say Bob didn't get the power from way back then.

As for the whole Ebony and Ivory thing, I have no idea. I did hear at one point that NT were going to go for the Tony Redgrave alias, and I wish they had. It would have fitted in with Dante being hidden away.
I guess I'll just have to assume Sparda gave Dante the guns or something.

Well in the original series' he made them himself, although irrelevant they could and probably will just use that explanation.

Dante didn't make Ebony and Ivory himself, they were made for him by a gunsmith named Nell Goldstein back in the classic universe, that's why they have the message "for Tony Redgrave" on them.

You don't get a weapons background in any game. If they put in all the details that fans keep saying should have been included it would be like a book that only has detail. It would be cumbersome and no one would be able to make it through the story. That's why they left out all these little details that really would have just weighed down the story.

That's what Kat is for, yes.

Nah, it was just Ninja Theory mimicking the original games without actually giving a **** about them. Kind of like a chimpanzee

So that means they did have DMC DNA after all.:troll:

Sparda: "Here ya go Dante. Happy birthday."

kid Dante: "OMG dad! I can't wait to see what I...what are these?"

Sparda: "They're guns."^_^

kid Dante: "For what?"

Sparda: "Well just in case your mother and me perish in an untimely destruction, at least you'll be strapped."^_^

kid Dante: "Umm...okay?"
