Whoa, wait a minute!....

Do you want to discuss this now? Because we could make a thread about it and make it clear, but only if you are going to take it seriously then, also so we don't fill up this thread with this discussion.
Sure. But i don't want to discuss to long with you about something that pointless. So let's make it short. Since i have no proof please provide me proof that indicates that Capcom is against Sopa. See you in the new thread.

I'll be making a new thread then, but about this SOPA thing.

Nope, I have thought the same thing. I have also noticed that some people call the new Dante for bad nicknames, but they aren't calling Dante from Dante's Inferno for something else than Dante. The only reason I can come up with is that they are doing it on purpose due to childish manners. :(

Anyways, the switching between Light and Dark powers isn't something new in gameplay. There are many other games who have done this before, more recent one being Dante's Inferno, but I can understand why people would be on the fence about it in this new Devil May Cry game. I mean, this is Dante, once just half-demon and now suddenly having new angelic powers in this new interpretation on him. There are reasons to ask questions and we have yet to have them answered, so I hope there is a good explanation in the game's storyline.

I like to think of it as being a misguided effort to avoid confusion. People don't really discuss the main character of Dante's Inferno at the same time as the main character of DMC, so there's no real source of confusion, but we're always talking about how DMC!Dante is different from DmC!Dante, so we need some shorthand to tell them apart...

I think part of the problem is that the DMC world has no God as such and no real sign of one, aside from the Fallen enemies in DMC3. It's like, suddenly there are holy powers out there. Who knew? Before, there was only demons, humans and alchemy. In fact, I think almost all magic was ultimately based on alchemy or using demonic power.

Next, we need psychic powers. You know, human mutants vs demons vs angels vs the army. ...Yes.

I like to think that Devil May Cry and Bayonetta's worlds as the same, so it isn't that hard for me to believe that there are both holy and magic powers along with demonic powers in existence. ^^

I... like to pretend Bayonetta doesn't exist. But in any case, in DMC itself, we never saw hide or hair (robe or feather?) of these holy powers, so screw them. I'm pretty sure there isn't a single holy weapon in the game, except for the Holy Water.

You can take your holy scythe and shove it, you halo wearing little-!

...I think I'm getting carried away. (Also, holy scythe? Really? Don't the holy types favor lances?)

A holy scythe is kinda cool, imo. Scythes are usually wielded by demonic or death like characters, so it's cool to see it being used a bit differently.

Holy Water isn't the only thing in the original series that indicates that there are holy powers around. The Divinity Statue where you can buy items and upgrade your weapons is a statue depicting a goddess of time and Devil May Cry 4 had alot of holy references in it, the Order trying to depict themselves like angels. Angels must have been existing in that world if they are trying to shape their looks in the likes of divine beings, right? That's how I see it anyways.

It could be cool, I agree. Weird, but cool.

I think the god(dess?) of spacetime is separate from any heaven-holy-divine thing that might be going on. That sounds more like a really powerful spirit of some sort or a concept personified, rather than anything to do with angels. I'm not really sure you can call it holy. Like lake or river gods, which are "gods" but aren't actually "holy" in the same sense. More like, neutral, or maybe blue on a black-white scale.

The Order worshiped a demon from the start though. Seriously, where did they get this nonsense about angels from anyway? It was a demon that Saviored you losers, not an angel, get with the canon. It's probably all Sanctus's fault.

It's a woman's body with a lion's head, so I would think it is a goddess. Unlike river "gods" she is a goddess of time. That's a pretty huge deal if she is indeed just a spirit, imo. Her powers might not be holy, but she still provides Holy Water to Dante in the battle against demons, so she must have at least some connections to the holy.

I figured she was a Greek-style goddess. They weren't really "Holy" in the Western sense, just powerful. (Yeah, that's the analogy I wanted.) Sure, she sells "Holy Water," but that's the only holy thing going on anywhere.

I'm not necessarily against the inclusion of a holy/heaven element, I just don't feel it has any real precedent.
