Angel Powers?!!, In what part of Dante's bloodline does he have angle powers?! The last time I can correctly recall DMC had angle powers is in DMC 4, and we all know how well that turned out.(angel form was a refined demon form.)
Sparda was a demon, and his mother was a human. simple as that. why does NT have to complicate things?

I will tell you what some people won't tell you.

DmC is a completely new game. It borrows ideas from DMC, but it has nothing to do with DMC.
It's a completely new game with it's own story and characters.

DmC Dante is not DMC Dante.

They have used ideas such as character, weapons etc from DMC to make it appeal to old fans. But the point of DmC is to get a new fanbase.

I hope that helps.

not just a new fanbase but to earn more money and to get a higher rating for the game that for example is a 90 on metacritic because the past games werent and capcom didnt know where the story was going so they had to try a fresh start

the funny part is that they expect to Make all this money after saying so many bad things about the fans
When this game bombs (probably be the worst selling of the series due to the anger of the fanbase) capcom will call the followers of the series more names , probably rage at us saying "what kind of fans are you"

It's a game mechanics thing, they use the angel thing to have a name for the different types of skills. It's like Bayonetta's heel guns, as a story element it's right out moronic but as a gameplay element it's fantastic, at least I'm sure that's how they see it, personally I think it's morronic all around.

Yeah sure I'm not thrilled with the idea of Dante being half Angel. But if that's all I'm going to "dislike" about this game, then I guess I nothing more to worry about.

Honestly, I feel like the vocal part of the fanbase is the minority. They tend to have very loud voices, but don't represent what the general public feels. I think the game will sell well.

Well, I'm not a fan of him being half angel as it makes him more powerful.
Not to say he wasn't powerful in the old series, but dante was more of a physical character and not willing to experiment with aura manipulation like his brother.

plus the angel powers he does have aren't that different than his demon powers from the old series.
So that reveal might have been better left to the story trailer.

Asmodiaus had put forward the sentiment of Eva becoming an angel after she died in the old canon, so maybe she came back to give dante angel powers to combat mundus or who ever the big bad is.

I can't be the only one thinking of a different Dante ('s Inferno) when it comes to having two kinds of powers, holy and dark.

As long as they don't make him only human i think its ok since to me the most important thing about being half demon was already ruin which was the devil trigger transformation:(

Nope, I have thought the same thing. I have also noticed that some people call the new Dante for bad nicknames, but they aren't calling Dante from Dante's Inferno for something else than Dante. The only reason I can come up with is that they are doing it on purpose due to childish manners. :(
Anyways, the switching between Light and Dark powers isn't something new in gameplay. There are many other games who have done this before, more recent one being Dante's Inferno, but I can understand why people would be on the fence about it in this new Devil May Cry game. I mean, this is Dante, once just half-demon and now suddenly having new angelic powers in this new interpretation on him. There are reasons to ask questions and we have yet to have them answered, so I hope there is a good explanation in the game's storyline.

or maybe people are calling DmC character for Donte because it's a character posing as DMC Dante.
or maybe it's because Dante's Inferno isn't based on DMC but D.C and it's advertised as a new game with no ties whatsoever with DMC.

or maybe it's because DmC and it's character has been advertised as DMC and it's characteR Dante.

Dante's Inferno Dante = based on D.C
DMC Dante = based off Blade, Cobra and D.C (Dante)
DmC = based off DMC Dante

I guess people who can't understand this must be childlish :(

Do you want to discuss this now? Because we could make a thread about it and make it clear, but only if you are going to take it seriously then, also so we don't fill up this thread with this discussion.
