Where's the taunt button on new DMC?

Maybe they're just messing around telling everyone there isn't a taunt and when we get the final game there will be a taunt.

That's obviously not going to happen but I hope while reading that sentence you felt happy for a moment.

I never used taunts or felt the need for them, I used taunts once and after I was all 'That's all' then never used it again and do not regret it since it did not add anything for me it was just there. that is all so the fact that DmC does not have it matters very little to me.

Taunting was always useless to me. I never used it because he just repeated and did the same gesture over and over again and it felt so cheap and used-up that I couldn't keep using it. I was tired of seeing him do the same thing.

Also, that reminds me I recall some image back in the day when DmC was first announced. "Remember when Dante was all about parties and gettin' crazy? obviously no one at capcom does" when DmC Dante does alot more partying and getting crazy than the old Dante did. Amusing when you look back at all of those comments and how wrong they are now huh?

but yeah, taunting just seemed like something you used when your style points were going down and it wasn't really necessary beyond that.
Shows that a lot of the vitriol was born out of misinformation and otherwise judging the game on very little information. Classic Dante really does seem like the cheesy loser. always talking about "crazy parties" and yet never being at one, while DmC Dante is going to nightclubs and taking home ladies consistently :p

Although, now people are saying this Dante is too hot-headed and raunchy... I really don't understand people...

I'm also going to miss the taunt button. Utilities aside, capping off a sweet combo with a taunt just feels really good. Also, some of taunt's other uses (like enraging an enemy to attack you) seem like it could really come in handy in this game, what with the demon dodge and parrying system.

Though, to be fair, if there were a taunt button ninja theory would have to write more one-liners for it, so maybe it's good that it's not there?

Remember that early comic with DMC Dante asking DmC Dante if he liked crazy parties, to which DmC Dante responded with confusion? It really should have gone like this:

DmC: "My name is Dante."
DMC: "How do you feel about parties getting crazy?"
DmC: "I am on a first-name basis with every worthwhile dancer in Devil's Dalliance. I never leave with fewer than two of them. We break into amusement parks, ride the rides naked, raise hell, and spend all night drinking beer, eating pizza, and having wild sex."
DMC: "... Not bad."
