You know when Vergil intervened the Arkham V Dante fight, what do you think would have happened had Vergil not intervened?

I boil it down to three options.

1. Dante would have been killed

2. Dante would have been injured but since Arkham could not fully harness the power of Sparda, he wouldn't be able to kill Dante.

3. Dante would have been able to escape with air raid, leaving Arkham whilst giving him the finger.

These aren't necessarily right and I'd be very happy to see a few more suggestions for what you think would have happened.;)

Being a big Dante fan I'd like to think it would be option 2.:)

Well,if Vergil have not intervened,then...

1.)Dante still able to kill Arkham solo, although he will be injured badly. (Like you said,Phantarch)

2.)Dante will be killed.

3.)Lady will help Dante in his fight with Arkham.

4.)Dante escapes. His line will be "I'll be seeing you next time, freak! I got another show to run!" (A cover up to cover his own pride.)

Good thread.Rep+.^_^

Im guessing Dante would have died or ended up like Vergil after the Mudus fight as a Nelo puppet.

I don't think Dante could have beat him on his own, Dante was exhausted by the time Vergil got there.

Dante was at his weakest, where when Arkham, using most of Sparda's power, would be Dante's equivalent to DMC1.

Although, how the hell would you kill Dante?

Awnser me that ;)

I guess to halfs make a whole.

The FAKE power of Sparda was no match for two sons of Sparda.

Nice responses guys.

I am at a loss as to how Dante would have been killed though cos we have said the only way to kill him would be to cut off his head. Let's face it, that blob had no sharp edges.

Then he would have won on his own. Yeah, you're right he was exhausted by the time Vergil came, but the guy fought his was through the underworld, beat Arkham with Vergil and then Vergil himself. And in the Vergil battle he sure made it look very easy. Remember his words. "Is that all you've got?Get up. You can do better than that".

My choice is that if he'd fought Arkham alone and beated him, then he would have lost to Vergil shortly after:p

After all it's Dante. Even if he did lose, he would get up and re-try the whole battle.

^^ As much as we love Dante, we gotta admit that when Vergil showed up, Dante's face went from a tired one, to a relieved one.

Yes, otherwise he would have been smiling on the other side of his face. Coming to think of it though, Arkham's arm (if you can call it an arm) was hardly racing towards him. I'm fairly sure even a fatigued Dante could have escaped it.

Dante's face wasn't really overtly relieved, some of his other emotions would have been readable to an aspergic toddler. However, he did shed a quick smile before accusing Vergil of stealing his spotlight. I still reckon Arkham wouldn't be able to kill Dante as I reckon only a being significantly more powerful than him would have been able to kill him, I think the most Arkham could have done is given Dante a few more bruises.

^ But since this is a 'What If' thread, It doesn't matter that much, does It?! ^_^

True, and liike I said, that just what I reckon would happen. Nothing much matters in these sort of threads except, of course, being on topic.

That I know, and am glad to see. Well enough digression...
Dante was essentially against another cross-breed when you think about it because it was Sparda (i.e. the epitome of good) against Arkham (A diabolical maniac). I think the result would have been interesting.:D

I agree completely. Remember that if you face Arkham in Bloody Palace you have to go through the whole first stage repeatedly and never get Vergil helping you.

Good, we prefer Dante's devil trigger to Vergil in that fight (no offence to Vergil).
