What other game title would this game have?

Actually, I've been thinking about this a lot, but, seriously, I can't get nothing good.
After all, the name of the first Devil May Cry had a specific in-game reference... but I can't find a good catchphrase that could make for a good title for the reboot... :/
The only thing that I can think of is maybe Nephilim Arise or something like that, but it doesn't have half the same appeal Devil May Cry has. (I think that Devil May Cry is one of the most badass titles I've seen...)

The name is pretty cool sounding but I think the reasoning behind it is pretty sappy lol. A rebooted Devil May Cry maybe should have been called D.M.C. I don't get what the little m is for and also why it has to be said like DmC: Devil May Cry. That's like saying FBI: Federal Bureau of Investigation. Or saying A Pimp Named Slickback.

Can't really deny that, at least for DMC1. DMC3 is better in this regard, I think.

Don't get it either. But I like how it looks in the logo, I mean, graphic-wise. (That's not really a good argument, but still...^_^)

But DMC 1 still answered the question and DMC 3 just kind of added nothing to it. The logo looks pretty cool. I can dig the spray paint thing but it's just a little silly to say. So why I think the game should have been called D.M.C. and left at that. You'd still know it was a Devil May Cry and it wouldn't be as silly. It's not a big deal though.

Yes, you're right. Mine was not a strong point.
Or maybe it can seem less silly, if you think, as I do, that eye-catching graphics are one of the particular features of the reboot. Still not a strong argument, but not downright idiotic. ^_^
 
I was thinking something like "Nephilim: Journey of the Halfbreed".

And yes, I know how ridiculous that sounds. Shut up. I have odd tastes.

I thought the original reasoning for the Devil may cry name was basically saying that Dante was such a bad ass that he could even make the devil cry by looking at him or something like that? I probably have the quote all wrong though lol and by the end of the game it did get pretty sappy, especially with the whole Devil never cry name change at the end....god that was one thing I hated...:ermm:

The reason the game is called Devil May Cry is because allegedly demons can't feel emotions or cry. This isn't true. It was explained in the first game as Trish cried for Dante even though she is a demon through and through. Also Sparda developed a sense of justice to protect humans. 1000 years after that he fell in love with one too and had kids. It's in the title, Devil MAY Cry. They can cry too.

It probably was meant as you said, at first, when Capcom had to come up with a good title for their new game... then they go and add that sappy thing about Trish in the story... gosh. And then, we have DMC3, and the meaning is changed...:ermm:

I know they can cry lol. I was just talking about what the first DMC game booklet said inside.

lol I hear ya, most of my game cases all got ruined when my brother stumbled on them drunk one night and vomited on everything. He didn't get my DMC games though thankfully ha. The full quote that's in my in my booklet says

"rumor says blue blood may be running through that guys body. I tell ya, if he glares at a guy, even the devil may cry."
