What inspired the name of this Devil May Cry weapon?

In the Devil May Cry franchise, was the Red Queen's name inspired by the Biblical Harlot of Babylon the same way the Agony franchise's the Red Goddess's name was inspired by the Biblical Harlot of Babylon?

In the Devil May Cry franchise, the Red Queen is a weapon owned by Nero.

Supposedly, it's meant to reference the Queen of Hearts in relation to all of Nero's signature moves being gambling related terms.

It also might be a reference to the Red Queen computer system in Resident Evil, another franchise operated by Capcom.
