What if Sparda was alive? (Theories)

What if was alive?

If he is? Perhaps with Limbo and Earth merged, he could break free from his prison.

Hope he make appearances somehow.

He can regain his strength around the world through some training, knowledge, religion, etc. He can't reunite himself with Dante and Vergil yet.

What are your theories if Sparda was alive?
 
Sparda is not dead yet, but Vergil says Sparda's fate is worse than death.
But it was Mundus who ordered the demons to execute the excile of him, when Mundus is dead, he may be freed.
I also hope that he can show up in the future, may be he can be the hope to reunite the brothers? If Vergil is able to talk to him, Sparda possibly won't agree with Vergil's thoughts.
But Sparda may also be assassinated by other demon kings or angels for some purposes.

Okay I may went too far.:P
 
Sparda is around. In the comic he talked to Dante when Dante was being beaten up, so he can communicate with one of his sons.
But as for where he is, not sure. I guess it depends where Mundus sent him for punishment. Vergil says that Sparda can't be found though.:/ Maybe that was to throw Dante off wanting to find him? I get the feeling that Vergil would want Sparda's power for his own anyway.
 
I hope Vergil finds Sparda and kills him just to show how powerful he's become after downfall. No more playing peekaboo out from Dante's jacket anymore m'kay Vergil.

Although If Sparda can talk to his sons somehow, why can't he tell them where he is and ask them to break him out? since he's a demon over 9000 years old, I'm sure he knows his way around hell to have an idea of where they imprisoned him.
 
Well technically he is alive, but lost somewhere deep in Hell.

As an aside, I personally like this version of the Sparda "legend". Not as all-powerful in it's insinuations, but seems a little more open to possibilities. Sparda's power (along with the other rumored demon kings) could be just as well broken, but it didn't matter against Mundus's h@x godmode cheat with the Hell gate. That and it doesn't completely determine who they are; IMO, classic Dante was basically a proxy of Sparda, at least in the beginning.

But this one has more leeway for surprise possibilities. For instance, what if Sparda climbed his way out of Hell? I also find the idea of Eva and Sparda's failures an interesting tragedy I wouldn't mind playing out..
 
After taking a beating most of these demons usually come back stronger, maybe not right away but eventually. So yeah he's still alive as far as we know in this new universe so if he shows up and can get his act together I think he will be an utter beast, more so than he was before. For story telling purposes he may not be too powerful unless the next game puts him as one of the main characters in the future. The most interesting part about him is he is a full fledged demon so I'm guessing that seeing him appear he will be to be in constant DT unless he is still injured from being tortured and cannot maintain his demon form which I can see them,as the creators, doing even though that's his main form haha.

Unless they make it part of Sparda's punishment that he has his demonic power taken and then forced to live in a human form. That might work.
 
I think Sparda can be alive. He should the "Kevin Flynn" of DmC.

He can hide out in holy ground... like a Christian church.

Vergil will do anything to steal Sparda's sword Force Edge.

Hope Dante can reunite with his father and seek his help. Maybe Vergil could possibly carry some part of Sparda's old personality before he met Eva, right? Ya know... Kevin Flynn & CLU?

Yeah that could work. Making him similar to the old Dante where his is human/demon and can access his demon powers at a limit. He could even have more character development to gain more of his original powers back.

I'd like that. Since there is a new Dante with the old Dante traits. Sparda can look like the old Dante.

But I wonder... can he wear like monk clothes or something?
 
Hopefully, the dialogue between him and Vergil goes like this

Vergil: I will have it, father. All the power I could ever...

Sparda: Shut up.

Dante and Vergil: 0.0

Sparda: Is this what I was imprisoned and tortured for 12 years for? to see my son become Mundus 2.0?

Vergil: I'm not-

Sparda: Not what? Power-hungry, greedy, deceitful? Lying, uncaring, sociopathic? You're all of those, just like Mundus. I gave you the power to protect the innocent, not become a bigger monster than the one that took Eva from me. You're no longer my son, just a mad dog. Now get out of my sight.

Sparda is still alive but is just being tortured forever. I think it would be sweet to have Sparda break free mentally broken filled with rage and guilt because of what happened making him the villain.
 
Since Sparda is alive, I found it weird that neither Dante or Vergil brought up the idea to free their father at all since they were both aware that Sparda is still alive and kicking. It would have been a tactical good idea I think.

Vergil: Dante, looks like youv gotten even stronger than before. Theres someting you should know though.

Dante: Vergil what are you going to do with all of this power. Whats the point!!!! No matter what weapon you use, no matter what power you unleashed the power of humanity...the power of the heart will always win. Your power nor your secret weapon can-

Vergil: FORCE EDGE. The Force Edge. This blade alone can slay a demon king. This blade alone.......

Dante: Vergil this is madness.

Vergil: This is madness. This is brilliant. This blade is the only blade in all of history that can kill an angel. The angels are coming Dante. For you and I.

Dante: .....

Vergil: This Blade Dante, can even kill god himself.

Dante: Vergil no.....Your insane!!!

Vergil: Im insane...Im also stronger, smarter, better looking, and i have a bigger (dick).

Dante: And i still have heart.

Vergil: Yes, the Heart that shall be your downfall.

Dante: You once told me that we have to put our lives into each others hands completely without hesitation. As your brother i will put an end to your suffering. Ill put an end to your hatred. Dont worry you will be free soon brother.

Vergil: You fail to understand heh heh.... Come...

And they start to fight.

I just made that up just now. It would be cool though if the Force Edge was the only way to kill an angel.

Also i know Mundus ripped out Eva's heart but still maybe it wasn't enough to kill her. She probably got punished by the other angels just like Mundus punished Sparda.
 
If Sparda was alive, he'd be in some monastery by monks. Dante, Kat and Trish were able to get info on the whereabouts of Sparda from an anonymous tip.

Sparda is meditating in the shadows.

Sparda: Who's there?

Kat: We've come to see Sparda.

Sparda: He's not here. Now go away!

Dante: Great. He's not here. Let's go.

Sparda: Wait!... Who are you?

Sparda: Dante? It can't be. You have no idea how long... y-you're alive! You're here! (hugs Dante)

Dante: I'm alive dad.

Sparda: Your hair. Its just like Vergil's.

Dante: And...

Sparda: I know. I'm old.

(both start laughing happily)
