What if Eva was a badass like Sparda was?!

Like Sparda had been, what if Eva had been an angel badass? I'm pretty sure that she would have know how to fight, since the demon and the angel had been in an incredibly long war. And Osiris did come from Eva's painting, which I'm sure belonged to her. I doubt Sparda would ever use an Angelic weapon. I'm sure her and Sparda had an epic battle against the demon that stormed their estate, or at least until Mundus had arived.

But what do you guys think? It would have been cool if she stalled Mundus so Sparda could have escaped with the kids.

She did stall Mundus in a way. It's implied from the dialogue when Dante was in the house that she had demons following her which she could have been trying to lead away so that Sparda had time to take the boys and make sure they were safe.

There's also extra dialogue that was not used in the game with Eva being interrogated and she's refusing to give information about where Sparda and the boys are. Then judging by how she cries out, they're hurting her to try and get the information.

Also, it is implied that Mundus took them by surprise at night. They had no time to mount a decent defence so the main priority of Sparda and Eva was stalling for time so that they could make sure the boys were not going to be harmed. It seems like Eva deliberately sacrificed her life and let Mundus tear out her heart to give Sparda the time needed to escape with the boys.
Given the options, it was the only theing that could be done. If both Sparda and Eva had fought back, then it would have put the twins in danger. It had to be that one of them stalled for time by sacrificing themselves.

As for Eva being badass. It is pretty badass to face demons and know that you're going to die trying to save your family. She knew that she couldn't hold her own against Mundus if Sparda was going to escape with the boys. Plus she had to feel Mundus ripping her open and tearing out her heart. She knew that was going to happen, but she still did it for her family. That's badass too.
 
Im still a firm believer that she IS a complete bad ass. The Eva we saw in Vergils Downfall wasn't actually Eva, the same way it was't actually Dante or Kat. They were images projected in Vergils' mind that had formed from his perception of the. He had always seen Eva as the caring mother and more importantly as the victim a victim of Mundus and the entire demonic regiem. Unable to defend herself from anything and requiring saving.

But lets think about it. She gave her life to save Sparda and the kids by giving them enough time to escape. That would require holding off an immortal Mundus for at least...5 minutes. a feat DANTE couldn't do and he is the one who kills Mundus. Eva was incredibly powerful, she died because she was out numbered against a foe who could not die.

Dante doesn't even last a minute where Eva lasted several.

That would've been so awesome. I'd liked to imagine that she used Osiris to protect Dante as a child when they were escaping, but got caught. If she was a badass, I think she'd be like Nariko from Heavenly Sword. Falling in love with Sparda while fighting him XP

Even so from what is in the game, she still did a courageous thing by staying behind to stale Mundus so they could get away. Shows you don't have to be fighter to be brave.

Kinda like a more violent meeting between Lady and Dante in DMC3. They also gained respect for each other through fighting demons together.
I figure Sparda and Eva would be similar. They start off hating each other, then have mutual respect, then maybe they're curious about each other, begin to bond and then fall in love.

She had a lot of guts and bravery standing up to an immortal demon king. Just like Sparda when he was willing to endure eternal torture.

I'm surprised with all these heart lines there's not been ONE joke of Mundus wanting Dante's heart for himself. I'd of laughed if that'd been the huge plot twist, in when Dante entered Mundus's chamber he was waiting there with a rose in his mouth ready to tango.

that's the actual storyline Mundus wanted to give Dante a valentine heart but eva's heart didn't work out too well so he decided to make Dante follow his heart i have no idea what im saying :D
