what do you call them?

They look like pretty normal boots, probably combat boots, since those were popular footwear in the punk movement. Certainly aren't hiking boots :p

In the old games, Rebellion is without a doubt a large claymore. That goes without question.
However, the new Rebellion resembles more of a Broadsword.

It's still very much a claymore, it just lacks the crossguard it's usually supposed to have. Broadswords aren't nearly that long.

I'm actually curious as to whether the Rebellion will get a crossguard at some point, similar to how DMC3's version had it's hilt open up. I mean, there is this piece of art floating around...

I have a theory that the Rebellion will change at some point in the game, probably along the same time Dante gains his permanent white hair.

If you look at the image, that's different sides of the sword, so it would seem that one side has an angelic motif, while the other has a demonic one. Sorta goes in line with the classic Rebellion, having one side of the skull human-like, and the other side demonic with fangs and little horns.

i thought that old rebellion only had the skull and fangs (it changed after it took in dantes blood when vergil used it to stab him)

It's actually both. One side has a human skull, the other has the one with the horns and fangs. When it's sheathed, the demon skull is always facing outward, since if it was the other way around, it'd be jabbing into Dante's shoulder.

That's what I had always seen, at least.

i've never seen that .. but i found a picture both sides are a demon one has its mouth open the other doesnt

Yeah, it seems like the demon side is the one with the mouth open.

In my above message I linked to a cutscene where you can see both sides pretty well, only one side has the mouth open, with horns on the forehead.

well they both have horns on them but either way i dont like rebellion that much i much prefer Alastor even though it was only in DMC1 :ermm:

I wonder what the designer concept behind the new rebellion. the first time i saw it i thought it look like a "gun blade". because one part of the sword look like a gun's hammer.

Thankies. :3 I thought they might be, but...yeah. >_>

No prob. Thanks for the insight on the coat :3 I'm a curious lad, so getting to know the correct terms for things is sort of a hobby of mine.

Research is one of my favorite parts of writing because of that :p

:3 You're welcome. I agree completely with you about knowing the correct term for things; it's always something I strive for when I write. ^^ *loves research, too*
