When it comes to terminal illness, I'm in agreement. If they're going to die anyway, they should have the right to choose; no one else has the right to tell them to keep on hurting. No one.

For anything else, however? No. Certainly not for matters of depression/real life issues. It would be a permanent solution to a temporary problem...and I use "solution" loosely, here. That said, I'm not about to go all "judge, jury. and executioner" when someone does commit suicide due to depression; I'll just be sad for them that they felt there was no other way out.
Depression can be a lifelong illness though and it can bring unimaginable pain and suffering. Just because someone with depression can still wipe their own backside doesn't make their illness less valid than anyone else's in my eyes. Plus the stigma of depressive mental illness is not experienced by those with cancer or ALS or whatever.

Presumably when faced with a terminal illness, people clearly feel there is no way out either, hence the support for euthanasia.

Not getting at you, I'm just against it is all :) But that's for another thread.

Currently I am eating Skittles. Not my cat, who is also called Skittles, but actual yummy goodies.

Proof-reading while making some small, (hopefully) helpful notes, drinking chocolate soy milk (because for some reason, I like it better than regular chocolate milk), and praising the only benefit I get from it being humid--my hair gets kind of curly.
