ok i just want to make one straightfoward topic about virgil's fate here. i know there has been other topics but this one we can finally discuss it straightfoward.cuz i have seen other topics that have avoided the point. is vergil dead? no i don't think so. A quote from a dorky blond headed guy or something like this was said "there are lots of stories out there but this is mine. and it should be told my way" "this is my story and ill tell it my way or ill end it here" my point is is that we havn't heart virgil's story yet. MY GOD HE IS A SON OF SPARDA!!! he is not dead... he exists in some way or another. well feel free to talk about virgil's fate here.

Vergil definitely is alive.
Why do I think this?

Point 1: In Devil May Cry 1 every single boss died right in front of our eyes. Phandom got stabbed at that knight statue and turned to ash. Griffon broke his feather got a huge thing in his body and Mundus finally destroyed him completely. Nightmare shot beams and made death sounds while decomposing completely.

But Nelo Angelo disappeared differently. We saw him going up, starting screaming and showing terrible demonic power. The next moment we see Dante being a bit pushed by that and then the amulet fell on the floor. No body fell (I mean what the hell, when he died he couldn't float:P). And no explosion happened, 'cause always that is trigger to some other catastrophe. We just didn't see him again. Except inside Nightmare's weird world when Dante supposedly fights his "nightmares" that old bosses are back to fight him.

Point 2: Capcom have said nothing about Vergil in DMC4. Only we the fans hope that he may somehow appear. However, it was asked if there's a chance that Vergil returns in any Devil May Cry at all, and their response is that he still remains important to Devil May Cry series. Some may say that Sparda too is important, although we never see him:P
But I think, that's a little hint by Capcom that Vergil WILL make a come-back;)

Nice speech Redgrave. As for my opinion on this, I believe Vergil is still alive. (Hopefully in his humanoid half-demon form) Why? Well, one for the same reason Redgrave believes, and also, I don't always go with what capcom has to say. Ok sure they made the original storyline, but are they even sure themselves? I honestly think they just tell the fans certain things to just get us out of their face.

What am I talking about? Well for example: Capcom saids that the twins are 18-19 in dmc3. Ok that makes sense, they sure do act like teens. And then they say that the events of dmc1 took place about...was it 10 years after dmc3? I know they said atleast 10 years. Now this is one of the things I have a hard time believing. So are they telling us that Vergil was currupted for 10 whole years??? What kind of sense does that make?

Not to mention the dmc novel that was supervised by capcom has Vergil and Dante fighting each other a little before the events of dmc1...How in the hell would Vergil be able to interact with the human world when 1. He was soppose to be living in hell, and 2. He was soppose to be currupted.

It's really hard to decide anything when Capcom has got the storyline all twisted up in tangles and contradictions. (Yes I said contradictions.) I mean, how hard is it really to keep the story in order and in line?

Anyways I think Vergil is still alive. I'll probably have more later. ^^ I don't wanna make the post too long or people won't read it.

Alrighty then. With that said, I'd just like to point out that Capcom said that storyline spin-off or whatever you want to call it, was disclaimed by them because of DMC 3. It is no longer part of the story. But to keep up with this theory, I also think Vergil is alive. He's a BAMF. FA' SHO

That also doesn't mean, he might change his mind about coming back to the human world if he could/can. If you ask me I say that was quite a stupid thing to do. I bet a little after Vergil fell he was like, "Damn...what was I THINKING!?" Pfft! Whats wrong with teenagers these days, jumping off of waterfall clifs into hell...lol im j/k im a teen too.

Sopposedly copcom stated that the twins were 18-19 in dmc3. I've read this on other sites and not to mention in past topics on this very forum. (Not hard to believe if you ask me.) ^^

But if you don't want to believe it, I won't hold it against you. There are some so-called officail facts that I refuse to believe cause capcom don't know how to make stories, they did the same thing with resident evil. Part 3 was before the first 2 when Racoon city was soppose to be wiped off of the map. To anyone who has played most or all of the resident evils know what im talking about.
