Vergil's Downfall Story Discussion

Son Of Sparda Is Back
I thought it would be a good idea to have a dedicated thread for Vergil's storyline , especially with new gameplay that released earlier today and DmC's release date being so close

so you can have any kind of story related discussion in this thread like for example what's your take on his story thus far" or "about it's timeline" and etc.

anything story related is allowed so .... cheers ^_^

Wouldn't it be much better if you could also play as Vergil in the main game? Dante's gameplay is pretty good but it seems you get bored after playing as him all the time, So it would be so awesome if we could play as Vergil out of his DLC.

I hope somone asks Tameem on Twitter for me about Vergil being playable in the main game .

i was thinking about the timeline of DLC , after this new gameplay i was convinced that it will happen after DmC main story but what if it all happens inside Vergil's mind ? i mean what if this DLC is Vergil's version of Secret World ?

That sounds like the DMC3 tactic, which was pretty lazy cause you just do Dante's story but with Vergil.

Maybe if Vergil had his own story in the main game, that'd be good.

If Virgil was on disc with his own missions like Lucia had her own missions for the most part id be sold on this game if it was 20 missions(V could have 15 instead of 20) each and unlockables for both would be awesome.

The story for the dlc is most likely after the main game. Right after the final battle Virgil probably gets sent to a deeper part of limbo where he's forced to wander around and hope that and exit exists.

Hmmm... Well, judging by the title "Vergil's Downfall", this could imply that Vergil might turn himself up to Nelo Angelo at the end of his story. Just my point of view.

i think when the DLC begins he actually is Nelo Angelo and he is fighting within himself to prevent his downfall

If Vergil does share the same fate as DMC Vergil, so far as being manipulated into becoming Nelo Angelo, I sure hope we actually give him a fighting chance to escape. It could be theorized that this is what happened to Vergil in DMC 1- he was finally freed by Dante, and his soul escaped into Nero's arm or something totally farfetched like that.

Personally, I'm hoping that the new Vergil never gets into that situation. I don't want to see him become a puppet all over again.

Vergil downfall could possibly be a what-if scenerio for DmC. NT may have intended to make Vergil a playable character, but decided to make the game mainly focus on Dante's origin story and how Vergil played a role in his growth. It could be an alternate ending to the main story. NT must've given you the option to Kill your brother (Demon side), or spare him ( Angel side), which would end up into Vergil's downfall.

Vergil trapped in Limbo that is crumbling and have to find a way out before Limbo is destroy(Kinda remind me of Bastion). And I like DJRunza theory that Vergil will be Nelo Angelo by at the end of the game, but i agree with scionicspectre that I like to see a different fate so we can see a whole new storyline on the next installment(if we get one).

It coulf be the reason why he is corruted ,when he was entagled with Mundus, and Mundus' control turns him too nelo angelo

I would rather Vergil find and kill Sparda, man up and become the opponent he was born to be for a DmC2 without becoming a mindless puppet like Nero Angelo. Maybe even become some type of anti hero later on. I just think his character is too important to waste like kill him off early or having him under another demons control etc. it would also be grate to see how Dante emotionally ends up dealing with having to go up against his brother (without DT because he was just in rage mode then). I felt that we haven't really seen the real Vergil yet and for better or worse by the end of the DLC a core part of his personality will be changed significantly. I just hope NT does him justice.
