Vergil story mode?

I'm wondering if we're going to have Vergil as a playable character in DmC. They did it in DMC3 and i don't see something wrong with doing it in DmC. Anyway can anyone tell if it's confirmed that we can play as other characters other than Dante?

Who else wants to play as Vergil with his new black coat and look? It will be awesome.

That's... very disappointing
It could be a DLC and then add him in the Special Edition like the dood above me said. but after this link i doubt it.

I won't think they would make a SE. NT is a small company and they are making their next game.
Besides...it would save me the space and money if its was DLC. lol

either the idea of Vergil being playable is the worlds greatest kept secret or hes not in it. but NT siad that id agter the intial sales enough people want it they will try to add it in at some point

I believe NT has said that they are now big enough to handle two games at once. One team could possibly be handling DLC for DmC and the other can create a new ip.

Not only Vergil won't be playable, but if that happened, NT would have to basically make a entirely new game.

DmC has a lot of scripted events. These events require the use of weapons and use of either demon or angel powers. I don't see Vergil having a demon pull or using Arbitrer. They would have to make a whole new game and that's quite impossible for now.

I wonder how they're gonna do, even for a DLC version.

Yeah, they'd have to either make separate levels entirely, or take out all the dialog (as in DMC 3 : SE) and provide an alternate method for traversal, like perhaps teleporting. Considering the dynamic of the aerial push and pull Dante achieves, I find it difficult to imagine at this point how Vergil's gameplay could be equally flexible.

Now, if they made separate levels and enemy layouts just for Vergil, it might work. But I still agree that the game is very much tweaked for Dante's specific skill set, as opposed to DMC 3 where all you really needed was a double-jump. This should make the game much more satisfying in the long-run, as you'll feel much more on-edge.

I do want to see playable Vergil as much as the next person, of course. I'd just rather it be a good implementation.

I'm putting it out there right now: Special Edition.

If they deside that 8 months after release they deside to release a SE with a playable Vergil I hope they go the extra mile and make an entire story and not just a cutscene. I don't care if the story doesn't match the game as long as there is an actual story that shows Vergil's part in the larger scheem of things.

Wow, the topic creator should have a big crystal ball, folks...:) That was amazing! XD

Now tell me, what's gonna happen next? You're my new hero, lol.
