Vergil using the Yamato to cut open a portal and crossing into it first originated from DmC, right?
Since I don't recall him doing that in DMC3 and he only started doing it in the main series in DMC5.

This is not just game characters; they’ve become cultural icons. Fans adore their striking designs, leading to countless Dante and Vergil wallpapers made by both Capcom and the community.
At the end of Devil May Cry 5, these willingly descend into hell to contain a dangerous rift left by the demonic tree, Qliphoth.

  • This act shows their willingness to sacrifice for the greater good.
  • Their presence in hell highlights their connection to the demon world, inherited from their father, Sparda.
This storyline leaves fans wondering about their fate—are they trapped in hell forever? Or will they return in future installments of the franchise?

Dante and Vergil are the sons of Sparda, a legendary demon knight, and a human woman named Eva.

From Vergil’s cold, sharp appearance to Dante’s fiery and rebellious persona, their aesthetic makes them favorites for gamers to display on their screens.

Yes. In DMC4 the Yamato became a key to open gates to the underworld, not sure how they made that connection but there you have it (maybe they thought that all of Sparda's sword were keys, just not Sparda or Rebellion), and from there, in DmC, it made portals to where ever.
