Two questions about Vergil's downfall

What if the statue Dante freed is represents Sparda?

I'm not sure, but I think Phineas had already stated that the statue was one of the last great Nephilim. Sparda himself was depicted as the "classical" demon.


I'm actually surprised there wasn't more of a fan backlash about that. :steve:

i always thought the statue was representing sparda since they show him covered(?) in chains and the giant statue is hold by chains too
 
Well, the bid bearded statue probably represents Sparda, or is a symbol of Dante's powers... Then we have another statue, the woman-like one, the one Phineas shows Dante, which is Assiel.
