Sega have revealed that 20 years later we have a spiritual successor to Theme Hospital on the way & former Lionhead & Bullfrog (Fable/Theme Park & Theme Hospital) developers are on board too.

The new UK indie team Two Point Studios was founded by Theme Hospital architects Mark Webley and Gary Carr.

Sega, meanwhile, has picked up publishing duties.

This looks amazing! Theme Hospital was the first game that I got with my Hewlett Packard 'gaming' PC back in the early '90s! And it's great to see some of the original developers returning, also.

Edit: I still have the original CD-Rom! Might have to give it another bash one of these days!

Was free on Origin at some point a couple of years ago so I added it to my account then. Used to love Theme Park & Theme Hospital and I agree this looks great. Also another project in works along those lines called Project Hospital.

I hadn't heard about Project Hospital - looks very faithful to the original, and one I'll have to add to the old wishlist.

Pretty sure my Theme Hospital CD-Rom is either scratched to heck or will just plain turn to dust if I pull it out of the jewel case - might have to pick up the GOG version instead.

I must have missed it when it was free on Origin, but I do have Origin Access so hopefully it's part of the included bundle...

First Two Point Hospital gameplay released

The footage offers a detailed glimpse at how the game will work, with two of the studio's co-founders, Mark Webley and Ben Husky, taking us through the construction of the hospital as patients start to roll in. Things start off pretty basic, with everything from cabinets, waiting rooms, reception desks, and more popping up before the actual medical work starts to get underway.

My fianceé told me about this a little while back. She absolutely loves Theme Hospital, and this looks like just the kind of thing anyone who loved it would enjoy playing.

Made by original creators too and some of the team behind Fable & Black & White, really looking forward to it myself as a big Theme Park/Theme Hospital fan. Also hoping the Jurassic World Evolution game is good by Rollercoaster Tycoon/Elite Dangerous devs.

That looks really good. You can see the huge resemblance in feel and style to Theme Hospital. Also, it sounds like the woman over the tannoy is the same lol

Yeah definitely, they have nailed the style and managed to bring it into modern age while keeping that nostalgic look. Certainly looks like they have kept that same level of humour too which is great, ive wishlisted it on Steam ready for release.

Sega acquires Two Point Hospital developer Two Point Studios

It seems Two Point Studios have been going from strength to strength (now a 17 person development team), originally formed in 2016 by Gary Carr, Mark Webley, and Ben Hymers (formerly of Lionhead Studios & Bullfrog Productions). Sega have announced that they have acquired them and will been unveiling some new projects with them soon.

Two Point Hospital is coming to consoles

The game is currently rated overwhelmingly positive on Steam and the game has received a number of free updates over the past year. These patches have added extra content, challenges, and diseases for players to try out, and have allowed the game to remain fresh. Now it is coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Switch later in the year.
