Thoughts on DmC.

He's always been around. :P

Just doing God's work right, Bob?

I'll be perfectly frank here. DmC: Devil May Cry (what a mouthful) is one of my Favorite games and one of three others I'd play over and over again. But, that doesn't make me blind to the faults it has. Nope. It only shows that I'm willing to look past them to enjoy the game. Like many others would do for their personal favorite game. So, in good faith I'm making THIS thread to hear the thoughts of people who like, dislike or indifferent to DmC.

Of course without the name calling and personal insults the most DmC thread end up as. So, let get this crazy party started and remember: STAY SSSTYLISH!!!

What I like about the game: just about everything.
What I dislike about the game: it's just another Devil may cry game. Obviously. Because once again, it's going to take me aaaaages before I clock it. I still haven't clocked DMC4, got up to SoS mode at the first Sanctus fight with Nero. FFFFFFudge.
Now, I've barely gotten onto the third mission on Nephilim with DmC and my wireless controllers ran out of power. I can't recharge them because the cord started smoking the day before when I was playing so I chucked it out. So until I get a new power cord, DmC is going to just be sitting there. Mocking me. Driving me mad.
So, yeah, I still need to clock DMC4 and then DmC. Nevermind all the DLC crap I have to download.
This never happens with my other games. Not with Bayonetta, or Driver, or FEAR, or Spiderman, or Alice Madness Returns, or any of my other games that I play from time to time. NOO. It HAS to be the devil may cry games that fudge up somehow.

That's my little rant.
....oh no, wait, I'm not done yet.
I rage quit before the first mission started. Dante with a bunch of strippers, uh-uh, that did not go down well with my inner fangirl. Also, I HATE that I can't skip cutscenes. WTF NT.
Oh, AND ALSO, I'm really, really, reallyreallyreally disappointed that there was no Dante held prisoner with chains. I'm sooooooo disappointed. Way to mislead a girl, Capcom.

Otherwise, I love everything else about it. Dark Dante has grown on me. He doesn't make me swoon like the blonde version does, but it'll do pig, it'll do. I'm absolutely in love with how they wrote the characters. Yeah, ok, the VA could have put a bit more feeling into certain lines, but the overall impression, pretty cool. I love the story! Yeah, I hate that some of it contradicts the original series or explains it (Sparda trapped in hell, wtf, I DIDN'T WANT TO KNOW THAT) but it's not bad for a game. I love the fan service with the brothers' banter at times, and I love love love Kat.
Which is saying something, because I've never remotely liked any of the girls in the DMC franchise. Kat, yeah, I dig her. She's cool. And not all up in your face with cleavage. I gotta agree with Tameem, I like that style of sexy.

It's also the story that pushed me to play through some missions that I would have otherwise rage quit on.It was like playing a movie, y'know? Like, aaaah noo I have to know what happens next! *rocks out some kickass combos*

Need to watch cutscenes once then click select or back depending on console

there is nothing lazy about this game, if you think twenty unique levels is lazy and have the audacity to defend the constant backtracking that has plagued the series before, then obviously you are not being objective

The boss fights weren't... really considered levels. But yes, the backtracking was lazy.

Rock on! Yeah, DmC has it's ups and down, but still a fun game.

Things I like about the game:
Level Designs are unique and very colorful (I like colorful things x3)
Concept art is very beautiful.
That succubus boss. Lord knows that's one thing that stood out from the game.

Things I don't like:
Character designs and character models look WEIRD. It feels like their face is too big or something I don't know. The only only character design I liked was Kat. (Honestly I don't get why so many think she's bad looking. She looked pretty to me. *shrugs*)
The dialouge is horrible. I know theres a good story in the game, but the dialouge hinders it completely.
All the controversy surrounding it. I'll just leave it at that.

pros
+ Best story since DMC3
+ Gorgeous Levels
+ Dante and Vergil are given a soul and character development
+ Stylish and fun combat
+ Some witty and humorous lines
+ KICKA55 soundtrack
+ Bloody Palace

cons
+Too Short
+ Lame but stylish boss battles
+ Boss glitching

I love this freaking game so much. Everytime I drive past a trailer-park, I imagine Dante flying out of it...
