Dedicated to anything done by them, new or old. That, and their creation during the days of Clover Studios are welcome too. Discuss!

I'll start with MadWorld. Their first game made after leaving Capcom. I remember seeing the teaser trailers for it in 2008. It, and No More Heroes convinced me to get a Wii.

While the combat is not combo heavy like DMC, Bayonetta, or even Viewtiful Joe, the game is still fun to play, and makes up for it with its creative level design and the unique way you can murder people. For those that don't know, MadWorld was a game that came out in 2009, and is game that can be described as The Running Man meets Sin City. The objective of each stage is that the more brutal the kill, the more points you could get to unlock more weapons, mini-games, and to fight the boss at each stage. For example, throw a tire around a guy, stab him with a caution sign, and stabbing him repeatedly on a bed of spikes, only nets you a rating of Hardcore Violence. There are some vehicles sections to change up the pace. They're nothing special, but they are fun and break up the monotony. The motion controls are great and work well for the most part. Just remember for certain vertical swings, to keep the Wiimote straight. This game is Wiimote and nun-chuck only. You can get this game super cheap, no matter where you go, so pick it up, if you have your Wii/Wii U lying around. If there are any questions or things you like to add, feel free to response.

I remember when the game got announced. It was on the same day as Bayonetta and MadWorld was the more informative of the two trailers.

The game is definitely one of the most creative action games around. It's not about how you implement combos but rather how you use your environment to do creative fatalities and there are plenty of things to help you do that. I only got to play it once but I didn't get a chance to get good with the system but when with the Wii being so cheap I might go track it down. Now, if it was coming to the Switch in a port I'd slap some cash on that right now, along with W101, but I'm still waiting on that.

I do wish for a Switch Port, but I highly doubt that's going to happen for Madworld at least. Wonderful 101 has a better chance. I do regret not finishing wonderful 101, but by that point I was so done with my Wii u and it was just sitting there. Opportunity struck so I traded it in for a Switch and I didn't have to pay a lot for it.

Well I do like MadWorld's spiritual sequel Anarchy Reigns, the former has aged much better than the latter. Interms of game design and replayability.

Bayonetta...

Ever since I saw the first teaser trailer, I was restless to see gameplay footage.

Once seeing it for the first time, I was not disappointed.

I remember this game being one of my first pre-orders for next gen. After coming off of DMC4, Ninja Gaiden 2 (which I disliked at the time), Bayonetta felt like the next step in evolution in action gaming and the 3D brawler/hack n' slash genre as a whole. I admit that this game spoiled me as I refused touch any other heaven vs. hell brawlers such as Darksiders and Dante's Inferno. Looking back it was silly, but I refused to play Dante's Inferno, because it was just another God of War clone, and I felt I played enought of those already.

I spent so many hours playing Bayonetta. This game allowed you pick up weapons from fallen enemies like in Streets of Rage. The taunting I found even more over-the-top than DMC's. The level design was refreshing after the bad taste of DMC4's level rehash, and the bosses blew my mind. My only main complaints to Bayonetta were the dreaded, unnecessary QTEs, the wash color palette (a problem with gen 7 games), and I hated Infinite Climax. Disable the core game mechanic. Now there was a way to get witch Time if you equipped certain accessories, but that didn't necessarily fix everything. Otherwise, it's a 9/10 type of game.

Bayonetta left her mark on the gaming industry, and turned her in to a unique powerful icon. Love her or hate her, she won't be leaving anytime soon.
