Chapter 4: Revelation
Atitashi took two steps forward, allowing a Katana to materialize in his hands as well. Ken readied his sword, holding it at his side. Atitashi stood still, allowing the Katana to grow twice as long as Kens in length, "It's true, isn't it?"
Ken snarled, "What's true?"
"That sword you have there. It's not standard issue Marshall equipment." Atitashi nodded towards Ken's weapon.
"You're right. It's not. Why do you care?" Ken frowned.
"It is one of the eleven Tengoku Blades, isn't it? It is another reason Tamayata wants you and your family. Hikaru had one of the blades as well. We suspect your sister of having one as well. Currently, we are in possession of two, one of the sword-masters being me." Atitashi stood firm, staring Ken in the eyes.
"You're after all of the blades' power? Well, too bad! You can't have mine." Ken growled, charging forward, sword raised high.
Atitashi side-stepped Ken with ease as his sword came crashing down, cracking the ground. Atitashi brought his knee into Ken's gut, and then the hilt of his sword swiped across Ken's face. Twirling to the ground, Ken kicked back off, landing a few feet away from Atitashi, "Don't make me take it from you. I don't want to fight."
Ken spat in anger, "Why do I care about you?! You're a traitor to us."
Atitashi dashed forward, appearing right in front of Ken, and his sword slid into Ken's gut. Ken dropped his Katana, and as it clattered to the ground, he buckled over, kicking up dirt as he fell. Atitashi leaned over to grab up the sword, but Sam drop-kicked him at the last second, landing right next to the sword. Atitashi stumbled back, a look of surprise covering his face, "Copper..."
Sam smirked, before rolling over to grab the sword. Ken yelled, "NO, SAM DON'T! YOU'LL KILL U-" Ken was cut off as Sam's hand enveloped the hilt of the sword. His arm was immediately jerked up as the sword shot up off of the ground. Sam stood up, grasping the blade with both of his hands trying to control it, when it began to glow a bright, vivid blue, lightning shooting out in all directions. A few trees caught on fire, and one of the strikes of energy blew a hole into the ground next to Kira and Hotaru, who'd been standing in the background for sometime.
Sam felt a surge of power course through his body, and it was painful. As well as shocking everything around him, the sword shocked Sam with explosive strikes of the energy. Sam began to glow as well, screaming every second of the way, while Atitashi and Ken both stared at him in amazement. Ken tried to stand up, but was pinned to the ground by the waves of power pulsing from Sam's body, "Sam...drop...the sword!"
"UGH...I...CAN'T!" Sam screamed, still in agony.
Atitashi, horrified, began to back away, "Tamayata will love this news."
Sam's eyes edged their way over to look in Atitashi's direction, "You! I...don't know...who...you are...but...I'LL KILL YOU!" At that very moment, a white light engulfed Sam as an explosive-like force blew outwards. As the light faded, Sam was standing still, holding the sword, covered in the same outfit that Atitashi was wearing. Sam looked at himself, "W-what happened to me?"
Ken raised a brow, "You...you've awakened a power deep within yourself. You truly are a descendant of the Copper Clan."
Atitashi's eyes widened at this, "Ken, we will be back for you later, as well as you...Copper. And that sword will be ours." At this, Atitashi jumped away, disappearing in the sky.
Sam stepped forward, helping Ken up, as Kira and Hotaru stepped out from behind a tree. Ken glanced at Sam in his Kimono, "You're...in a Marshall uniform. I have to say, you look half-decent in it."
"HALF-DECENT?! I LOOK SWEET IN THIS YOU NANNY-WHACK!" Sam yelled angrily, smacking Ken into a nearby tree. Ken's foot twitched. Sam looked at his hand, "Dang..."
Kira looked at Sam, as Hotaru went to aid Ken, "Wow Sammy-boy...I think you outdid yourself."
"I definitely paid the price for grabbing up this sword. That hurt!" Sam shook his head, looking at the blade, as Ken drowsily walked over to him, a worried Hotaru following him.
Ken sighed, putting a hand on Sam's shoulder, "Well...I'm going to have to find you a sword now, cause that one's mine...and I know just the place to go."
--One Hour After School--
Sam glanced over at Ken, back in his casual clothes, "Why the hell are we at Akira's house?"
Hotaru jumped in the air, "Akira is my favorite teacher in the whole wide world!"
