Sudden change of feelings?

Anyone think it's ironic that after destroying Nightmare, Dante seemed all hateful with Trish for being a devil serving Mundus, but then all of a sudden he feels sad and worried when Mundus tortures and kills her? And for that matter, when Mundus says he could recreate Eva (Dante's mum), Dante just got angry when he could've just asked Mundus nicely to recreate his mum so he'd stop being so sad about Eva being dead and forget that he even met Trish?

Dante is one of the good guys, technically he is obligated to get all emo when she dies.
He was angry at trish but didn't want to kill her.I suppose it's because she looks like his mother and he has some "feelings" for her.When Mundus "kills" her he shows his hidden feelings.And saying he could just create a second toy to play with is kinda teasing, don't you think?
(The whole DMC story is full of plotholes, you can really notice that DMC was intended to be RE4)

His real name is Stan Sage, and his face was burnt when he was 3 by a criminal called Welding Man who came to his house and used a welder on his face. (Ouch)!

The reason why Dante had a sudden change of heart with Trish is because of her 'death' Like Eva, his mother, Trish was mortally wounded by a demon. So re-experincing a moment like that just expelled all of his anger, just because they looked exactly alike

Tis only makes enough sense. I mean after all, this can be related to what happened in the Inuyasha series when the titular character saw the Un-mother under the guise of his mother and got pretty upset when she was disposed of by Sesshomaru
